I Dream Of A Killer ~My Short Story Version~
So as I had promised to the few people who wanted me to post this, here you are :)
And soo sorry but this version is going to be really stupid sounding because I made it for school and I had to shorten it and have dress ups and all that 'fun' stuff in it.. So sorry aboot that.

Chapter 1
Waking Up
Breathing hard, I look around in the darkness that surrounds me. It's so dark that I can only made out the outlines of the thick, massive trees. I know I'm being followed. Fortunately, I haven't seen his face. Although I did catch a glimpse of his vibrant red hair earlier. Desperately begging and racing for my life, I run as hard as I ever have because I know that if I don't, I will die.
While running rapidly, I trip and fall. As I fall, I feel the burning sensation in my legs and I realize I have fallen for his stupid, sneaky trick of tight wire.
"Foolish girl, you should have begged." A voice whispered in my ear. I didn't even scream as he pulled the trigger, only to leave my lifeless body in the over-sized forest.
Gasping for air, I bolt up. Slowly, I take ten deep breaths and look around me. Realizing I am once again in my bedroom, I sighed, relieved. All of my covers are on the soft, carpeted floor as if they had been in a struggle. But, in reality, I only had another nightmare,
Closing my eyes, I rubbed them tiredly, slowly, hesitantly. I am scared of that man, who I dream about; scared he will go after me for real. After a moment though, I calm down enough to get up and make my bed.
While I was dressing myself in my blazing red tank, jean shorts and gray work sweater, I manage to accidentally bump into my dresser. Quickly, I regain my balance but not fast enough to catch the glass photo frame before it shattered into thousands of tiny, jagged pieces. I cursed loudly while I carefully maneuvered my way out of the web of glass.
Underneath the glass I saw the photo. It was a picture of me; Lilibeth Legacy, my bouncy brown curls blowing behind in the wind, and my best friend/ co-worker; Vincent Lucas. His soft blue eyes were sparkling with laughter. Both of us are smiling in the picture...we hardly smile anymore, all because of the nightmares and killings.
Trying to forget the memories before they crept into my waking mind, I swiftly cleaned the mess up and got ready of work without any further delay. I detoured on my way to work, ending up late. I don't care anymore though. Sign in, hang coat, walk to my office, do paper work, talk with victims. That's my typical work day but today is oh so very different.
I saw the date as I walked past the front desk. July 19th, 2011. The anniversary of when this all started.
"Leave me alone!" Loudly, I screamed, hoping someone, anyone, would hear me. Crying while I tried desperately to get away, I stumbled because it was almost impossible to see in this darkness. I could only make out the outlines of the trees and bushes. The branches whipped and scratched me as I ran for my life.
"You can run but you can't hide." Called a voice mockingly. I snuck a look behind me and wished that I hadn't. As if taunting me, he was driving an off road jeep casually. After turning around, I tripped around and I knew I was done for.
"You should have begged." Looming over me, he whispered the last words I would ever hear.
Nearly falling as I tried to forget my first nightmare exactly a year ago, I felt to strong hands grab my gently. "Careful." The voice mumbled. Promptly, I looked up and saw Vincent's caring yet hardened blue eyes scanning me.
"Bad dream?" He asked. Hoping I wouldn't have to go into detail, I nodded while looking to see if anyone else was around. I saw no one. After a moment Vincent lead my gently (by holding my hand) to the small conference room which is at the end of the bare, dull hallway.
Immediately, I knew what we were going to do because we had done this so many times before.
