Chapter 1

Goodbye

I can hear the truck tires coming up the gravel road
And its not like her to drive that slow,
Nothin's on the radio
Footsteps on the front porch, I hear my doorbell
She usually comes right in, now I can tell

Known as Padfoot, was a pure-blood wizard, son of Orion and Walburga Black and elder brother of Regulus by a little over a year. Although he was the heir of the House of Black, he disagreed with his family's belief in blood purity and defied tradition when he was sorted into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which he attended from 1971 to 1978. As his relationship with his relatives deteriorated, he gained great friendship in James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. The four friends, also known as the Marauders, joined the Order of the Phoenix to fight against Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War. He also became the godfather of Harry Potter, son of James and Lily Potter. He was killed by his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. He briefly appeared again through the Resurrection Stone for Harry, along with James, Lily and Remus in 1998.
Goodbye, Sirius Black

Here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain,
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
That she was right here in my arms tonight,
But here comes goodbye

He was a wizard, arguably the most renowned Auror of all time, and a pivotal member of the Order of the Phoenix during the First and Second Wizarding Wars. He served with distinction during the first conflict, gaining a considerable reputation, as well as losing an eye, leg, and part of his nose while fighting the Dark Arts. As a result, he became overly-cautious and paranoid about his security. In 1994, he accepted Albus Dumbledore's offer to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, but was temporarily kidnapped by Barty Crouch Jr., who disguised himself as him. After he was rescued, the real one became a member of the second Order of the Phoenix. He fought in several battles of the war, including the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in 1996 and the Battle over Little Whinging in 1997, where he was killed by Lord Voldemort. His eye (the only part of him that was found) was buried by Harry Potter in the Forest near where the 422nd Quidditch World Cup had been held three years earlier.
Goodbye, Alastor (Mad-Eye) Moody

I can hear her say I love you like it was yesterday
And I can see it written on her face that she had never felt this way
One day I thought I'd see her with her daddy by her side
And violins would play here comes the bride

She was a half-blood witch, daughter of Ted and Andromeda Tonks and a Metamorphmagus. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1984 to 1991 and was Sorted into Hufflepuff House. After leaving Hogwarts, she joined the Ministry of Magic and trained to become an Auror under Alastor Moody, qualifying in 1994. In 1995, she joined the Second Order of the Phoenix, working undercover in the Ministry and helping to guard the Department of Mysteries. In June of 1996, she fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and at some point fell in love with Remus Lupin. Remus, feeling he was too poor, old, and dangerous for her, rejected her feelings, although he felt the same way. In the wake of the return of Lord Voldemort, she was assigned to Hogsmeade as part of the Auror task force sent to guard Hogwarts. She later fought in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower and, after seeing the love Fleur Delacour held for Bill Weasley despite his injuries, publicly declared her love for Remus. The two were married in the summer of 1997, and Tonks became pregnant shortly after. She gave birth to a son, Teddy (named after her late father Ted Tonks) shortly after Easter in 1998. In May of that same year, she fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, and was killed by her aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange.
Goodbye, Nymphadora Tonks

Well, here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain,
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
That she was right here in my arms tonight,
But here comes goodbye

He was also known as Moony, was a half-blood wizard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lupin, and later a werewolf. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Gryffindor house. During his school years, he was one of the Marauders; he was best friends with James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew. Together they created the Marauder's Map. After Hogwarts, he and his friends joined the Order of the Phoenix and fought in the First Wizarding War. He taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts during the 1993–1994 school year. He was also a teacher of Harry Potter, James's son, whom he taught how to make a Patronus, but resigned after Severus Snape revealed to the public that he was a werewolf. He fought against the Death Eaters once more in the Second Wizarding War, during which he lost his friend Sirius. In 1997, He married fellow Order member Nymphadora Tonks and had a son, Teddy Lupin. He fought at the Battle of Hogwarts, during which his wife was killed by Bellatrix Lestrange. He was also killed by the Death Eater, Antonin Dolohov, during the same battle in 1998. However, he briefly appeared again through the Resurrection Stone for Harry, along with James, Lily, and Sirius in 1998.
Goodbye, Remus Lupin

But here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain, Here comes me wishing things had never changed
That she was right here in my arms tonight,
But here comes goodbye

He was a half-blood wizard, the son of the witch Eileen Prince, and the Muggle Tobias Snape. Despite his wizarding heritage, he was instead raised in the Muggle dwelling of Spinner's End, which was actually in close proximity to the home of the Evans family. He met Lily and Petunia Evans when he was nine, and fell deeply in love with Lily, becoming a very close friend of hers. In 1971 he began his first term at Hogwarts where he was sorted into Slytherin. He became the immediate enemy of James Potter and Sirius Black and was a frequent victim of their bullying. Shortly before Lily Evans was killed by Lord Voldemort, he changed sides and became a member of the Order of the Phoenix and double agent during the Second Wizarding War. With tremendous difficulty, he was able to prevent Lord Voldemort from learning the truth about his loyalties. He later participated in the Battle of Hogwarts, but was killed by Lord Voldemort who mistakenly believed that he was the master of the Elder Wand, a powerful wand that Voldemort wanted. After his death, Harry Potter ensured that his portrait remained at Hogwarts, honouring him as a hero, despite their significant personal differences.
Goodbye, Severus Snape

Why does it have to go from good to gone?
Before the lights turn on, yeah and you're left alone
Oh, all alone,
But here comes goodbye
Oh-oh-oh-oh

He was a pure-blood wizard, a son of Molly and Arthur Weasley, brother to Bill, Charlie, Percy, Ron and Ginny Weasley, and twin brother to George Weasley. He was a toddler during the height of the First Wizarding War and was three when Lord Voldemort fell for the first time. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1989 to 1996 and was sorted into Gryffindor house. Both he and his twin brother were popular students, known for their sense of humour, and Beaters for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. In their seventh year, they joined Dumbledore's Army. A brilliant prankster and inventor, he left Hogwarts shortly prior to graduation to become a successful entrepreneur, alongside his twin brother, and opened the joke shop Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley. He was also a member of the Order of the Phoenix; he fought in the Battle over Little Whinging in 1997 and was a commentator for Potterwatch during the height of the Second Wizarding War. In 1998, he participated in the Battle of Hogwarts, defending the castle's passageways with his twin. While fighting alongside his brother, Percy, he was killed in an explosion possibly caused by Death Eater Augustus Rookwood.
Goodbye, Fred Weasley

Here comes goodbye, here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain, Here comes me wishing things had never changed
That she was right here in my arms tonight,
But here comes goodbye

He was a house-elf who served the Malfoy family. His masters were Dark Wizards who treated him cruelly. In 1992, he tried to warn Harry Potter of the plot to have the Chamber of Secrets reopened which he came to know via the contact between his masters and Lord Voldemort . At the end of that school year, after Harry had vanquished the spirit of Tom Riddle and the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, he tricked Lucius Malfoy into freeing him by placing his own black sock into the diary of Tom Riddle; this was rudely handed to him. He went on to work in Hogwarts, in the kitchens, Albus Dumbledore told him that he was free to call him a "barmy old codger" if he liked. He went on Aberforth Dumbledore's orders to save the lives of Harry and his companions Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood, Dean Thomas, Mr. Ollivander, and Griphook from Death Eaters at Malfoy Manor and was fatally wounded by Bellatrix Lestrange's knife as he successfully apparated Harry and Griphook to safety in the Shell Cottage. Harry dug his grave in the gardens of Shell Cottage without using magic and placed his body inside. After Harry finished burying one of his most loyal friends, he carved a rock saying Here lies Dobby, A Free Elf. placing it where he was buried.
Goodbye, Dobby
