The Purple Ribbon Campaign!
Before I start, let me tell you that the Purple Ribbon is not exclusive to the Pagan cause. A quick search online will reveal almost twenty other causes (and possibly more) that also use a purple ribbon, and some Pagan/Heathen supporters wear a purple and silver ribbon!
Chapter 1
Fight the Fear!
Wear a purple ribbon (like the picture accompanying the title, or an armband, on your car, a hairband, whatever you like!) to support Pagans and Heathens, and end the fear! This supports all those who are oppressed, even harmed, because of their beliefs--everywhere, not just America! If you can, buy a ribbon that will donate the proceeds to the cause you want, but if you can't, find some purple and do some supporting! Don't be afraid to tell others about it, and help fight the fear and anger against Pagans and Heathens today, both in America and (sometimes more so) overseas.
May the Spirits guide you,
May the Gods protect you
And the Goddesses bless you on your way.
Merry Meet,
And Merry Part,
And Merry Meet again!
May the Spirits guide you,
May the Gods protect you
And the Goddesses bless you on your way.
Merry Meet,
And Merry Part,
And Merry Meet again!

I think that the fear of Pagans is completely idiotic. People use our differences as an excuse to be ignorant and violent. They claim we're "sinning" because we don't believe as they do. This doesn't only happen to Pagans, though. It happens to Christians and Muslims, too.
Why does a difference in religion, or skin color, or country of origin matter? Aren't we all human?!
(Sorry, thought I'd contribute to the cause with a few words.)
I agree Potions; it doesn't just happen to us Pagans/Heathens, but we're pretty alone in the world. Christians have such a large following that if a couple are labeled as sinners/etc., it doesn't really matter--it was just that one group, that one branch, or even just that one church! Muslims have the same privelege...just a group of extremist thought, we don't all think that way...and there are so many of them, others can accept that. Heathenism is so taboo in the world even today that it's
much, much harder for others to accept that others don't think like that one person said we do, or that one extremist did.
It's also completely unbased, this fear/anger. Pagans haven't blown anyone up, or had cults that killed themselves/others. Those aren't Pagans, if they have, they're usually Satanists, and that has nothing to do with Pagans/Heathens. It's just that we're different, and the bible teaches that we should be killed, that we're going to Hel, that we'll burn forevermore.
Very true. We haven't blown ANYONE up, but we're the ones who are persecuted.
I still fail to see where the Bible comes into this. Just because we're Pagan, doesn't it say to "Love thy neighbor, no matter their sin"? It's not our place to judge. It just goes back to ignorance. The Christian churches were so corrupt during the Middle Ages and they never managed to get rid of some of the old things the clergy attempted to instill, and managed to instill, in the masses. You'd have
thought we'd moved past that with the Enlightenment.
Regardless of what Jesus said in the New Testament, there are still parts of the Bible that tell followers that those who practice witchcraft, or worship "false" gods, should not be suffered to live.
as a chistian wiccan so understand this......can be so diffecult to tell peeps
