Part of the Malfoy Family
Chapter 1
Chapter One: We Have A Witch In The Family
My name is Violet Henderson, and I'm 11 years old. My parents died by cancer when I was only a year old. So, my mean old aunt and uncle took me in-after finding me on their doorstep after my parents' death.
So, anyway, here I am, in the kitchen, making my Aunt Rosalin and Uncle Edward breakfast.
"Hurry up, girl. I'm starving! And make sure those bacon don't burn." barked Uncle Edward.
"Sure thing, Uncle Edward." I replied, trying hard to keep my tone normal.
I hated them, I really did. They've been treating me like dirt for a real long time. I was sick of it. Really sick of it.
I finally got done with making breakfast. The table was already set, so I didn't need to worry about that. I set the food on the table carefully and gently.
"About time." Uncle Edward scoffed. He had already served himself some eggs and was now eating it. He didn't even bother to wait for every one else. "Rose, hurry up!" he called upstairs to his wife. "Breakfast is ready!"
"I'm coming, dear." Aunt Rosalin called back. Uncle Edward turned back to me. I was pouring myself a glass of milk when he looked my way. He gave me a glare as I finished up and put the jug of milk away. "Now you listen here, girl." he snarled, pointing a finger at me. "We're going to send you to a school in London tomorrow morning. So, after breakfast, you better get packed."
"London?" I said, looking up at him. I was surprised. London? That was miles from where I was living, which was the US. "Yes, London. We will get you on a plane, and then at the airport in London, a family by the name of Lovegood will be waiting for you." Uncle Edward replied coldly.
"Funny name, Lovegood. Don't you think? HA!" he laughed, taking a bite out of the eggs. I didn't think it was funny. I never made fun of people's names, first and last. I thought it was mean to do so.
When Uncle Edward didn't hear me laugh, he frowned at me. "Bah, you're just like your father! He never laughed at anything, unless it was something he wanted to laugh at. Take the Weather Channel for example. He never believed them until he saw what they were saying was true. Well, I think those people are right!"
I think they're brains are clogged with too much sunshine and snow that they don't even look at their computers once. I thought. It was true, I was like my father. I was skinny like him, had the same opinions on things like him, I was a very picky eater, and I was just about as smart like him. I wasn't tall like him, though. Instead, I was a bit short. I get that from my mom. I get my laziness from my dad, but I like to study hard like my mom.
What I didn't get from either of my parents was my powers and my eye color, which was a light violet, like my name. I have a lot of powers, so many I can't even list them. Well, I can, but then that just takes up too much time, so I'm not gonna do it.
"I thought you were sending me to a school in New Jersey." I said, taking a bite out of my eggs. "We were, but they wouldn't take you for some reason. So we're sending you to London." Uncle Edward replied.
As if on cue, Aunt Rosalin came into the dineing room, sat down, and started eating, not saying a word. "Rose, is something wrong?" Uncle Edward asked. "No, dear. Not a thing. I just got finished with packing Violet's bags for tomorrow." she replied, shooting me a glare. I could tell she was happy to get rid of me.
Without saying a word, I finished my breakfast and put the dishes in the sink. I went upstairs to my room. Once I was there, I quickly closed and locked my door, and unzipped the large suitcase that was on my bed. There were only a few things that I didn't really need in there. So, I replaced them with things that I would need.
My favorite books, all including dinosaurs and horses (my 2 favorite animals), my laptop (I made it so that it won't have a need to be charged all the time :).), my flashlight that didn't need batteries and worked all the time, and my most favorite property, my diary that writes back to me (cool, huh?).
I finished packing, then I did the rest of my morning chores. After that I got dressed (http://cf2.polyvoreimg.com/set.31411932.gOsEe5d84BGKv10_h5DbSg.s.jpg).
After getting dressed and putting my hair into a pony-tail, I jogged downstairs. But before I reached the bottom steps, I heard Uncle Edward say this, "Who knew we would have a witch in the family?" A witch? Me? How can that be possible? Then I heard Aunt Rosalin reply, "Maybe her ancestors are magical? Who knows, dear? But I'm sure glad she's moving into that school. She'll be staying there for a few years."
Magical Ancestors? I didn't get it, and I wasn't about to ask my relatives about it either. They'll know that I've been listening.
I hopped down the rest of the stairs and pretended that I didn't hear anything. "I'm going outside." I said. "Be back in half an hour. Plan's changed, we're leaving today and soon." Uncle Edward barked. "K." I said, then headed outside.
I wondered why the plans had changed.
