I'm usually good at hiding my emotions...why is it so hard with you? A Robin love story.
It is Dick Grayson as Robin, this is before he becomes night wing, and is not related to the teen titans. He is still batman's protege in Gotham city, and is 13 years old now. So are you. Your name is Caron and you go to the same school as Dick Grayson, who you don't yet know is Robin. You and he were in the same circus when you were little but he doesn't remember you. You decide to become a superhero after what happened to Dick's parents, just like he did.
Chapter 1
A new vigilante in town.
+Robin's POV+
Batman and I had been battling Mr. Freeze, when we'd been caught off guard. One of his henchmen somehow go behind us, and got one good shot at our heads with the butt of his gun. I was just coming back into consciousness, and from what I could make out, we weren't in the best of situations.
Mr. Freeze had us strung up back to back by our arms to a big crane hook. It was over a big vat of what I assumed to be some sort of cryogenic freezing liquid. It was steaming just because to the little amount of heat in Freeze's lair, and that was saying something. I glanced over in batman's direction, only to find that he was still unconscious. They must've hit him harder, knowing he was the one who was the escape artist.
I struggled at the bonds on my hands viciously, but it was no good. We were stuck there.
"Oh, is the little birdie trying to fly away?" Freeze's voice suddenly filled the area around us. I looked in the general direction of the voice, and found a small building that controlled the hook we were tied to. this is not going to end well... I thought glancing down at the vat again. Freeze laughed in his little wheezy way as if he had a cold. (no pun intended)
"I would stay and watch your demise, batman and Robin. But I have some business with my Nora..." he sighed. Nora was Viktor Freeze's wife, before there was the accident and she nearly died. Ever since then, she has been frozen to save her body and Freeze has never given up on trying to revive her. As soon as he left, the hook started moving downwards slowly. We had been about 6 feet above it, and we were getting closer by the second.
Suddenly, out of the darkness I spotted a figure running towards us, perched on the ledge of the steel bar supporting the hook. The person was wearing a full face mask, so i couldn't see any of their face, but by the way they moved i assumed it was a man. It was hard to tell in the dim light though. He shimmied down the cord connected to it, and started working on our knots with a sharp looking knife. Before he cut the remaining little threads he motioned for me to grab batman and the hook so that we wouldn't fall into the liquid as soon as we were free. I obliged, and after a few more seconds we were totally cut loose, and climbing the cord ourselves with batman in tow.
We soon reached the steel bar, climbed down it and onto the cold stone floor. The masked rescuer pointed to the exit, and started running to it. I followed, slowed slightly by batman, but keeping up pretty well. When we were outside, he made a small salute and started walking away.
"wait!" I whispered urgently. He turned around reluctantly. "who are you?" I asked. Of course this got no reply, and he started going away again. This time I moved to grab him, but ended up catching the back of his mask instead. It ripped off, revealing a long wave of reddish hair. I stepped back out of astonishment as the rescuer, tried to cover her face.
"y-you're a girl?!" I asked. She cast me a furious look, showing me her brilliant green eyes that flashed angrily at me. Still covering part of her face, she sprinted away, only leaving her torn mask as evidence she'd actually been there.
