Does anyone know how to become an animagus in Harry Potter?

    It's a series of very advanced Transfiguration spells. I'm not sure exactly which spells they are. It can take years to become an Animagus, though it's very rewarding. Once Animagus status has been achieved, the person in question is required to register with the Ministry of Magic.
    There were a grand total of seven registered Animagi in the 20th century. Neither Rita Skeeter or the Marauders were registered.
