The Jungle of Life
this has nothing to do with anything' i wrote it cuz i was bored. it has a strong reliance on the hunger games concept with some major changes. if you havent read the hunger games, 1) READ IT!!!! and 2) it wont effect the story. hope you like it, pleaaase comment!
I walked carefully through the dense jungle, my body tensing at every step.
"You’re going to want to keep up." Tyler said flatly. He was tall yet wise for his age; however, the life had been drained from his features years ago when he walked the same path I am walking now. I didn’t trust my voice to make any convincing sounds so I simply jogged up next to him.
Tyler had trekked up and down the same paths I was now, and that our parents had years ago. He has experienced the hardships I soon will. He thought it was over when he survived the Jungle, but here he was guiding me through it. When he got home he was forbidden to speak of anything he endured in the Jungle. At night I would creep down the hall and listen to his dreams; the endless names, but one in particular, Bonnie. At the time, the only thing I knew about her was that she was Tyler's guide, and he loved her. Now I know, she was the First. She was chased into the Cloning Cave and got caught by the faceless.
The thing about the cloning cave is the first to die becomes the First. Everyone else that is the cave for more than three minutes transforms into the image of the first forever. The only way to retrieve your image is to have your face erased by the faceless before you transform, and then retrieve it by killing the same faceless that took yours once in the cave.
Tyler saw Bonnies everywhere.
