Let's Blame Our Hearts This Time

Lea woke up on the ringing sound of her annoying alarm clock. She groaned and got out of bed.
She stepped down the stairs to see the parents who adopted her, Bob and Stella. She took her seat at the dining table after giving them their morning kisses.
"Good morning, love. How did you sleep?" asked Stella.
"Great," she replied.
"Are you ready to go to school? Go on get dressed." Bob smiled as she went up the stairs to get dressed.
"Are you sure she won't know about you-know-what?" asked Stella as soon as Lea was out of earshot.
"I'm sure, we just shouldn’t mention this to her until she's ready" replied Bob sternly.
Stella sighed. She hated lying, especially to Lea, her adopted daughter.
Bob wrapped his arms around her in comfort and whispered "it'll all turn out fine, all that matters to me is her safety, I don’t want her to live in danger. That’s why we moved here, remember?"
She smiled and rested her head on his shoulders.
Lea walked down the stairs in skinny jeans and a black loose tank top. She matched them with black ballerina flats, a huge black Prada bag and tied her chocolate brown shoulder length hair into a loose bun. She didn’t put much make up though; she just curled her eyelashes and put some clear lip gloss. Simple makeup always managed to make her wide and innocent light blue eyes look beautiful.
"I'm ready," Lea smiled.
"Okay, I'll start the car, wait for me young lady," Bob smiled and pinched her cheek.
She giggled. Although she was turning 17 this summer; she still felt like an 8-year old around her foster family.
"Take care of yourself, dear." Smiled Stella.
"I will, I love you," she kissed Stella's cheek quickly and ran as she heard Bill's car horn. She was felt always during moments like these.
"I love you too," whispered Stella as Lea ran out the door.
The road to school was quiet and awkward. They stopped at a café to get them some morning coffee and then they silently headed to school.
As Lea opened the door, she smiled at Bob, "thanks for the ride,"
Bob grinned as a replacement for saying "any time" or "it's my pleasure".

"Why does it always have to be me!?" whined Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, the God of the sea.
"Because you are the only one who is capable of doing this mission," replied Mr. Brunner.
"Oh really, well I think that anyone is capable of bringing a girl from Lancing! I even think that the Aphrodite cabin girls are more capable than I am!" he snorted.
"Whatever you say, Percy. But trust me, you will regret not getting her yourself." Smiled the old man.
"I won't, trust me." Percy smiled confidently.
Mr. Bruner turned to Annabeth, "Anna, contact the Gods, I want to know that girl's whereabouts,"
"Of course, Mr. Bruner," grinned Annabeth. The thought of getting her best friend to fall for the new girl excited her, she knew why Mr. Bruner wanted Percy to get her, Lea, the daughter of Hephaestus.
"Percy," Annabeth smiled as she handed him her hand. "I need your help. Care to give a damsel in distress a hand?"
"absolutely," he smirked, anything to keep his mind off why was HE chosen to do this silly quest, and what was he going to regret if he didn’t get a girl, a normal girl from Lansing.
They walked until they reached the river and she sat down to concentrate as Percy kept mumbling stuff about why him, she shushed him then contacted the Gods using her own ways of contacting; she has gotten much better at contacting especially with her mom.
"hello again, child," smiled Aphrodite.
Percy bowed and Annabeth curtsied.
"Hi mom," smiled Annabeth shyly. "I need your help, I'm trying to locate a girl named Lea Perne, can you help me? She's Hephaestus's daughter," she smiled weakly.
"okay dear, give me a minute," smiled her mom.
And in a bit a beautiful girl holding her books and walking to her class while swaying her hips to some melody she was humming appeared.
"That’s Lea Perne," said her mother proudly, "she's awfully beautiful, don’t you think?"
"Definitely," whispered Annabeth as she started at the way she smiled and swayed gracefully, like a ballerina."What do you think Percy?"
Percy had his sea blue eyes wide opened looking at the girl who was swaying to a certain melody. Her loose bun swaying as her shoulders went from side to side, and that tiny waist which her shirt clung to because of the AC. And those gorgeous wide hips that would make any guys fall for. Then he went back to her face, those full lips, that cute nose, those wide innocent blue eyes, those eyes that will make him trade the world for them.
"Percy?" Annabeth turned to him and stifled a laugh. "Excited to get her, now?" she winked.
Percy didn’t get his eyes off Lea's image, "Let's go get her, now,"

Lea kept swaying her hips to a certain melody as she walked to history. She stepped into class minutes early and took the front seat. She placed her books on the table then took out her notebook and started to scribble some random scribbles.
Mr. Grey stepped into class, "good morning class"
"Good morning," she smiled.
"So, kids, today we will be taking up something that I find interesting, we will be talking about Greek mythology. Anyone interested?"
She and a few students raised their hand.
"Well then, the majority enjoys this, so I guess the others should tolerate it for a bit," he chuckled.
She smiled at her favorite teacher, Mr. Grey. He was sweet to her.
After class, Lea went to her teacher "Mr. Grey,"
"Hmm?" he lifted his sight off his papers to his student
"I was wondering if there was anyways that we could probably go on a field trip to see the Greek Gods and Goddesses, this would help improve our memorizing more," she smiled shyly.
He lit up "that’s a great idea miss Perne,"
"Lea, please," she corrected.
He ignored her remarks, "I'll tell the board about it, if they agree then we will be off sometime next week,"
"Okay, thank you Mr. Grey," she stepped out of the office and headed to the cafeteria,
She entered the cafeteria and spotted her friends in their usual table. Damian, has a passion for photography, he's also her best friend. Alexander, he's gay but he's also a great friend.
She took a seat, "Morning people,"
"Morning sunshine, you look gorgeous today," smiled Damian as he snapped a photo of her with his Nikon professional camera.
"Doesn’t she always? She always makes me proud," grinned Alex.
"Stop it guys, you are making me blush!" said Lea as she hid her face inside with her hands.
Damian laughed and snapped another picture of her. Then it was time for class again. Damian and Lea had P.E so they headed to the field as they were told that the rest of their class was there.
When they stepped into the soccer they found no one, something that looked like an animal jumped at Damian and Damian fell on his back to the ground which sent his camera flying. But luckily, Lea caught it and threw it aside.
Then she ran towards Damian who was screaming in fear, she pulled out a pen from her pocket and stabbed it into the animal's shoulder, it stood up in rage and roared at her, she shouted "run, Damian, run!" then the monster roared and she screamed in fear! The monster was about to pounce on her when she felt unbearable heat and pain on her wrists when she saw that her hands had fire on her, she screamed but it wouldn’t go! And the fire didn’t stop! She thought quickly and managed to run towards the monster and push the fire towards him. She was too close to the monster and when he roared in pain, his nail stabbed her thigh and his claws made a large scratch across her waist, she stumbled to the floor.
She couldn’t move, but when she saw him heading towards Damian she screamed in agony so hard that suddenly there was a trail of fire from her wrists to the monster and suddenly it went on fire, minutes later, it turned to ashes, and that’s when she blacked out.
