Chapter 1

Missing

"Josh?" Charline Anderson called up to her sons bedroom. It was 6:45 and well past time for him to get up. After minutes of no reply, she called up again, but a little louder. She finally climbed the stairs very annoyed with that response. She mainly wanted to apologize for the big fight they had the other night. She knocked lightly on the door which was usually locked. " Josh? Josh? JOSH!!!" She brged in and found the door unlocked, intensiffying her suspicions. She hurried to the bed. She yanked the bedspread off and found nothing but crumpled sheets. She let out a high pitched shriek that set evryone else in the house running to see what was wrong. " Mom!!" the two twins Arti and Liza yelled in unsion. They rushed into Josh's room to see there mother crumpled on the floor crying into a note that had been left on the bed. Liza picked it up and read it aloud for her sister and her father. " By the time you read this, Jason and I will be long gone. Try to find and see were that gets you. I want 6,000 dollars sent to the following address.
591 North Egger street
I do not live here so don't get the police on it. One of my accomplices will come and retrieve it next wednsday at noon. I don't appreciate it whaen people turn things in late. We'll be waiting-" Liza's voice cracked on the last word. Her and her sister slowly knelt to comfort their mother, as the silent tears streamed down thier faces. Jackson Anderson, the father in the house, picked up the note. He thought he might be able to recognize the handwriting, but the note was made up of letters cut from a magazine.
