Though this isn't a true story, It proves some points in it. Note that in your head.
Chapter 1
Expectations
It always comes down to one thing, doesn't it?
Expectations.
People expect you to be amazing at everything you try. Swimming, math, writing, basketball. It's mostly people like parents and teachers, isn't it? They expect too much out of their poor students or children.
Then what happens?
Then, the children feel as if all they care about is if you succeed or not, not you.
It all goes downhill from there.

"Paris, what happened here?" Mom asked, waving my last science test in front of my face. I'd gotton a "C."
Oops.
"Paris," she repeated, sitting down on a stool in the kitchen. She looked tired, as if this has happened too many times, repeating over and over like my scratched and broken Nickleback CD.
"I don't know, I can't ace every test ya know," her tired expression turned into something suspicious.
"You haven't gotton anything above a 'C' in a month now," she said, raising her eyebrows.
Before she could start lecturing me on the perks of good grades, I heard a car horn beep in the driveway.
"Mom that's Jadyn and Aiden," I said, thankful for an excuse to get away, "I gotta go now,"
Mom shot me a firey look. "This conversation is not over. Do you hear me?!" She called after me. I didn't listen. I grabbed my jacket and ran to meet my friends outside.
