Just cause you're bored of it doesn't mean she will be.
I've been playing guitar for about 6 years now.
It didn't take a lot of convincing for my mom, cause she plays too.
Start with picking one to learn for now. tell them why you want to learn to play, what it means to you, and prove to them that it's something you'll stick with. The part about sticking with it is the most important.

it teachs u patience
say ull use headphones so there wont b to much noise (think u can only do that with electric guitar)
or just bug them till they let u
