Is it an ugly word?

My sister and I were having a discussion.. Should one say "full of glee" or "gleeful"? Personally I would say gleeful, but my sister says it is an ugly way of saying it and it would sound better as "full of glee".

Example 1: Phil's dog was gleeful as it gobbled up its treat.
Example 2: Phil's dog was full of glee as it gobbled up its treat.

**Don't make fun of my sentences... :P

  1. 1

What do you think? Gleeful or full of glee?

  2. 2

Do you think you could make a better example?
