Unicorn Hair & Dragon Heartstring - A Draco Malfoy Love Story

My best friend Julianna and I wandered through the Hogwarts grounds, putting off the homework we should have been doing during our free period. We’d gone through a range of topics, but right now we were talking about my boyfriend, Fred Weasley.
“I can’t believe you not only have a boyfriend and I don’t, but your boyfriend is two years older!”
“That’s not necessarily good. It means he’s graduating this year and I’m only just taking my OWLs this-“
I stopped short when Madam Pomfrey tottered by, holding a growling cactus at arm’s length. She stopped when she saw us
“Don’t you have somewhere to be, girls?”
“We have a free period.” Julianna explained
“Free periods are not for aimless wandering. Come with me and make yourself useful. I’ve got two boys helping me already, but an extra hand is always welcome.”
I sighed heavily, and Julianna gave me a look that told me the irritation was mutual, but we followed Madam Pomfrey to the greenhouse without complaining out loud.

Inside the greenhouse, there were two figures teasing a mandrake by putting a stick within reach of its mouth before hastily pulling it away before it could get a grip on the stick. When Madam Pomfrey turned the lights back on, I realised the two boys were Draco Malfoy and Blaise Zabini, the two jerk supremes. Next to me I saw Julianna give the pair a flirtatious smile and flip her hair. Making a mental note to ask her about her attraction to the two later, I turned my attention to Madam Pomfrey, who was scolding the boys.
“So what do we have to do?” I asked unwillingly. She spun to face us and started rattling off instructions which no one listened to. I wasn’t being disrespectful on purpose, I just found that my attention span was particularly short today.
Madam Pomfrey disappeared to go and run more errands, and Julianna sidled up to Zabini. I sunk into a nearby seat and pulled out a notepad, which I began drawing on.
For a couple of minutes I was left in peace, but I supposed it was just too much to ask for longer.
“Hey” A voice said.
I looked up and saw Draco Malfoy sitting on the table next to me.
