Love & Heartbreak Part 9
The next morning
Randy was in the kitchen having a cup of coffee when Melanie came in with her coat on and her purse in her hand.
Randy - (looking at her) where are you running off to?
Melanie - (digging in her purse for her keys) the office it's my first day back remember?
Randy just looks at her.
Melanie - (feeling the tension from him) are you okay?
Randy - Not really
Melanie - What's wrong?
Randy - We have some unfinished business to discuss
Melanie - Unfinished (shaking her head)
Randy - You and John
Melanie - We talked about John yesterday -- I mean what else is there to say?
Randy - Oh not much I just want to see how you feel about working with him again.
Melanie - Why? It's not a big deal. I told you last night that my feelings for John are history.
Randy - Really?
Melanie - (smiling) Really. What's going on with you?
Randy - I just wanna be sure -- you are sure on how you feel.
Melanie - (smiling and walking up to him) Well, I thought I showed you last night how I feel.
She gently grabs him by the face and kisses him he quickly kisses her back and looks away.
Melanie - Look at me.
When he doesn't.
Melanie - Hey you...(grabing his chin) I love you so much. Don't forget that.
Randy - Alright.
Melanie - (backing up towards the door) I'll see you later okay?
Randy - (forcing a smile) okay.
She walks out the door and heads to the office.
At the office
Melanie is talking to Evan Bourne.
Melanie - Is he in today?
Evan - No, it's John's day off.
Melanie - Cool...day off.
Vince walks up and stands in the background listening to their conversation.
Evan - Well, you better get to work my friend
Melanie - Right yea...I'm going....(smiling) Evan by the way -- I missed you.
Evan - I missed you too Melanie it's been much too quite around here.
He walks off.
Vince - (walking up behind her) Melanie
Melanie - Yea? Oh Hi!
Vince - Welcome back
Melanie - Yea, I am excited! First day back and why do you look so worried?
Vince - Why do you care if John is working today?
Melanie - (like she had a bad case of diarrhea of the mouth) Ah...I was just wondering if John was in today...because....because....um...of all our past but we have completely resolved all that -- so it's not like it's a big deal but I was just thinking that maybe if he ran into me on my first day to work then......(stopping) what?
Vince - (being a dad who knows -- shrugs his shoulders) I just have a feeling there is more to it.
Melanie - No there's not.
Trying to walk away but can't she turns back around.
Melanie - Yep, there is just a little...okay...ugh (putting her face in her hands then uncover it) Randy over heard an agrument between Stephanie and I about John and he confronted me about it.
Vince - And how did that go?
Melanie - Not good for me because I wasn't honest (looking down)
Vince - About what?
Melanie - (looking at her father and taking a deep breath) Oh..this is going to sound really bad and you are probably going to be disappointed in me. But I still have feelings for John and I hate myself...I really hate myself about it because Randy has been so wonderful and loving and perfect and if anything happened to Randy....do you hate me?
Vince - Come with me.
He leads her to his office and closes the door.
Melanie - (sitting in the chair in front of his desk) I know what you are going to say. That I am a bad person that I don't deserve Randy that's what Stephanie thinks. ( looking in the other direction)
Vince - (sitting beside her) Melanie, I want you to look at me please.
Melanie looks at him.
Vince - I don't think you are a bad person so I am not saying that. What I am saying is you gotta be forgiving with yourself when you get confused or you'll go crazy. Okay...just give it sometime...you'll sort it all out. I have faith in you.
Melanie - Well, that means a lot to hear you say that.
Vince - It means a lot for me to be able to help you in anyway I can because you are my daughter. You're my little fire cracker and I am going to be here for you always alright?
Melanie - (hugging him) thank you.
Randy and Kelly Kelly
Are at the arena working together on Monday Night Raw skit.
Kelly Kelly - Randy what is wrong with you? (noticing that he was not actting himself)
Randy - I am just in a bad mood alright -- it's not you.
Kelly Kelly - Bad mood? Why did something happen?
Randy - Yea, I overheard an argument between Stephanie and Melanie. And Melanie apparently wrote John a letter the day of our wedding saying she would leave me for him if he wanted her too.
Kelly Kelly - No
Randy - Yea
Kelly Kelly - Oh my god I'm sorry that's awful. Well, have you talked to Melanie about it?
Randy - (shaking his head) not about the letter but I did ask her about her feelings for John and she gave me the normal reassurances about being in love with me and this is the life she wants.
Kelly Kelly - Of course it is. I mean come on I have seen the way she looks at you. My god you guys are married.
Randy - I know this should be the honeymoon phase right? I shouldn't have to worry about another guy.
Kelly Kelly - No, you shouldn't I'm sorry. This must be so hurtful.
Randy - Yea it is and aside from that I am just wondering if she married me because she loved me or she married me because she felt obigated too.
Randy - Wait I don't get it what did you mean you felt like Melanie felt obigated to marry you?
Randy - I guess obigated might be the wrong word maybe she was looking for security.
Kelly Kelly - You mean like financial?
Randy - Yea, yea, that and maybe to feel a part of something like a family.
Kelly Kelly - No, you know what -- that sounds way too depressing and I am not going to let you think that you just have to trust that she loves you.
Randy - Well, how can I trust her when she does something like this. I mean if she really doesn't have feelings for John then why won't she just tell me. Why can't she be honest about it.
Kelly Kelly - Because...I wouldn't be
Randy - C'mon how does that even make sense?
Kelly Kelly - She would be crazy to tell you about the letter if it was me I wouldn't tell Evan about it because I would know that this was then and this is now and all that matters is now. She is over him okay...I know that.
Randy - Well, I really won't know that until I see the look in her eyes when I see her with John.
Melanie
She was walking out of Vince's office and was had almost reached the arena where Randy and Kelly Kelly were practicing. As she rounds the corner she bumps right into John.
