Chapter 1

Just Another Place

by: Dudete
A lightning bolt flashed through the sky, hitting the ground. I stood as the fire aproached. Seawater appeared from nowhere, killing the fire. Suddenly an arm grabbed my shoulder. I looked down to see only bones, no flesh , no skin. A skeleton. I screamed.

I opened my eyes to find that I had fallen out of bed.
" Ashton!!" Mom came in quickly, a box of stuff in her hands. " Are you alright?" she looked at me. " What are you doing on the floor?"
I laughed. " I guess I fell out of bed!"
" Well, since you're up, you can unpack," she smiles and walked around the corner of the hall. I sighed. Another house, another school, more new people. I sighed, wishing that we'd settle down for once. I showered and changed into jeans and a loose dress over them. My parents said I had my own style.
I picked up a box of stuff and went around my new room, arranging them around the area. I didn't know why we bothered, in a few short months we'd move again. I opened another box, and at the very top was a handbook with the words Amon Highschool printed on the top. The badge was a triangle separates into three parts, one containing Poseidon's trident, Zeus's lightning bolt, and Hades's crown. I smiles, thinking how my parents would freak out when they saw it. I picked it up, and a flyer fell out. It was for swimming tryouts, which would be tomorrow right after school. I sighed and stuck the whole thing under my bed.
" There's no point," I said to myself, picking up five brown notebooks with multicolored polka dots and sticking them into my school bag.

I bit my lip and stepped inside Amon Highschool, nervous to death. My hair was still dripping from my morning swim, and I hoped no one would have a problem with mini skirts over skinni jeans. I adjusted my tank-top strap and went to find my locker. People stared. In all my history of moving, no one had stared at me so much. I felt my face turn red and made my way to my locker.
The hallway fell silent as people stopped what they were doing to look at me. I tried to ignore them, but as I tried to quickly stuff my things into my locker, it all tumbled down on my and all over the hallway. My face was now an unhealthy dark red.
" Stop staring at her, you're creeping her out!" came a high-pitched voice.
