Chapter 1
“Hey, baby,” Kyle said coming up behind me and grabbing my waist. Kyle and I ask been together since for almost a year, but we had been on and off since the eighth grade. We’re sophomores now. I guess you can say we have history, we can be fighting and screaming one minute and kissing the other. We were voted cutest couple in ninth grade, and Kyle wanted us to be together forever. That sounded okay to me.
“Hey,” I sighed.
“What?” he asked, “Don’t you miss me?”
“Sure,” I smiled, “I just had a crappy fourth period.” I hated my fourth period. It was my worst class. Social studies. But it wasn’t just me it was the teacher, she hated me ever since she found out I wasn’t going to kiss her butt like every other girl in class.
“Don’t you always?” he teased. He was also one of the reasons that Ms. Turner hated me. He was constantly grabbing and kissing me in front of her.
“I’m sure you can make it all better tonight,” I flirted. Tonight was our date night. We go out every other Friday night. He would have me every night, but he knows I like time with my girls just as much as he likes his guy’s nights out. We walked out the front of the school and down the back streets towards Kyle’s house since he lived right by the high school. I always told my mom I walked to rose’s house after school, but I’ve been going to Kyle’s house every day since ninth grade.
We stayed at Kyle’s for a few hours. We spent most of our time making out, watching TV and trying to ignore his little siblings. His little brother was in eighth grade, and his little sister was in ninth. They weren’t exactly adorable. Just annoying.
Rose and I made our way back to her house when his dad got home. I mean he didn’t care what kyle and I did, but it was still awkward to do anything in front of him. He always got a knowing look when we would whisper to each other, or go in the back room to do things. It sent shivers down my spine. Six o’ clock always meant it was our turn to leave… if there’s anything to get you out of the mood it was your boyfriend’s dad knowing what gets you in the mood.
“I love you,” he murmured in my ear as he walked us to the door.
“I love you too,” I smiled. He kissed me softly on the side of the lips right as his dad got out of the car.
“Hi kids,” Mr. Stevens smiled when he saw us. He loved me ever since Kyle almost went to TYC; he knew Kyle would’ve just messed up again if it wasn’t for me. I was his motivation to stay good.
Rose and I walked slowly on our way back form Kyle’s, taking all the back roads. We always liked to smoke on our way back, we used to be able to after school but Kyle made me promise to quit. He thinks I did. In our small town no one cared if we smoked, but especially no one that took the back roads.
“Do you love him?” Rose asked me, throwing her cigarette on the ground.
“Yes,” I smiled.
She smiled back, “That’s nice.”
