Why I no longer have any hope left for the world...
First of all, I just want to say that I will be discussing religion in this 'story'. I may be bashing it a bit, but please, PLEASE remember... IT IS ONLY MY OPINION! If you don't like it, tough! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions so you can flame me all you like, but my opinions will stand firm. Just don't bother reading this if you can't stand your religion being run down.
So anyway... Basically this is a bit of a rant why I no longer have any (or much) hope left for this world.
Chapter 1
Why I no longer have any hope left for this world... Chapter 1
I have always tried to have hope that this world could be a better place. After all, without hope, what do we have to try and tell ourselves everything will be alright? I've listened to countless peace songs such as Imagine by John Lennon and Man In The Mirror by Michael Jackson and have hoped that the lyrics in those songs could one day be true.
The reason humans suffer is because they make themselves suffer. I don't mean these kids in Africa who are starving and don't have any clean water, it is not their fault they are suffering, but IT IS other people's fault they are suffering.
But that is another story... Humans make themselves suffer because, let's face it, how many times have you got up in the morning thinking 'wake up in the morning feeling like... Crap!' and then going to the bathroom mirror to insult yourself for how 'ugly' you are. Running yourself down is just as bad as other people running you down and it will never make you happy. It can be hard, but you have to see your good points instead of keep pointing out your flaws and beating yourself up for having them. No one and nothing is perfect, fact.
Another way people make themselves suffer is through religion. Almost everything has its good and bad points and I am not saying religion hasn't got any good points, but it does seem to have a lot of bad points to me. Firstly, the bible taught us to hate black people and gay & bisexual people. That is another reason why humans make themselves suffer, because they can't accept themselves or other people for who they are.
Oh god forbid someone is black or gay... WHO THE BEEP CARES?!?! If you are going to hate someone because they are different, you might as well hate yourself because EVERYONE is different. As Katy Perry says in her song Firework, 'You don't have to feel like a waste of space, You're original cannot be replaced' which is about as true as you can get.
And if you are wondering why you hate your life and/or self so much, it is likely because you are the one making your life so crap. How often do you tell yourself you're not good enough to do something? How often do you say you might as well not even try because you know you are going to fail anyway? With that kind of attitude, the only person making your life crap is yourself.
The key to success is that, just don't give up. Don't take no for an answer and don't go home, wallow in your self-pity and cry because you 'failed' to do something. Failure is only a perceptive, there is no such thing, fact.
J.K. Rowling was once a single mother who was struggling to make ends meet because of her low income. After writing the first Harry Potter book and being rejected by every major publisher in the country because of how 'crap' it was, did she give up? No, she kept trying and finally got accepted by a not so well known publisher who agreed to publish the book. Now, Harry Potter is one of the biggest selling book series of all time and J.K. Rowling is now a billionaire, baby!
Another key to success is to do things when you don't feel ready. If you always wait till you feel comfortable to do something, you will never get anywhere in life, you have to be brave and just go for it.
Anyway, getting back to the point... Yet another way people make themselves suffer is mainly down to religion... Again. Yep, religion has caused more wars than anything else in the history of mankind, fact. Why? Well it depends, but most of the time it is because two different religions go to war because they both think they're religion is the 'true religion', but of course the other side doesn't agree and so they kill each other over it.
If you want me to put this in to more simplistic terms... There is one tribe who thinks the colour blue is really the bee's knees! It is so awesome, IT IS THE BEST COLOUR EVER!!! But there is another tribe who really likes red, they believe red is the best colour ever. The result? The two tribes go to war and kill each other because they can't agree on which is the best colour ever...
And let's face it, why the hell do people always die in the 'name of God'? Why can't it be In The Name Of Love or something (no pun intended on the Thomson Twins song...)? Why do people kill each other over something they can't even prove exists? I suppose it is all down to hope again, they hope God exists because they want there to be a purpose to life. In my opinion though, and I do apologise if this sounds really depressing, there is no meaning to life in the long run. Sure, you can make your own life brilliant, but in the end we are all going to die anyway. There is still no explanation as to what happens after we die, but if we just die and that's that, what is the point of it all? The whole world is going to end someday and, as sad as it may sound, when that happens, there kinda would of been no purpose of Earth ever existing...
More depressing tales to come in chapter 2...

Ok, it's your opinion, and I won't argue with everything that you wrote about religion just because I do believe in God...
BUT!
You wrote:
"And let's face it, why the hell do people always die in the 'name of God'? Why can't it be In The Name Of Love or something"
and then you wrote
"there is no meaning to life in the long run. Sure, you can make your own life brilliant, but in the end we are all going to die anyway. There is still no explanation as to what happens after we die, but if we just..
die and that's that, what is the point of it all?"
But-can you prove the LOVE exists? I'm not talking about romantic love, but love for these people you care about...yes, I have experienced it, and I am sure that you have, too, but how can you prove that to someone that hasn't experienced it?...
About the second quote, yes, "if" afterlife didn't exist, we could do whatever we wanted, without thinking of others(although it would still be egoistic), but-who knows? Maybe I am true, maybe you are...
Good point, I mainly meant love as in friendship. I suppose you can't, but it must exist for me because I have friends and I care for them, lol.
No one knows and I am kinda hoping there is an afterlife because if we just die and that's it, there kinda seems like there never being a point to it all, lol. xD Who knows, no one can prove if God exists or not. There is apprioxamtly a 50, 50 chance of God existing, he either exists or doesn't, lol.
Wow. im not sure what to say to this but you and Quizzergirl14 both have points. We cant know everything in the world which is what makes it so mysterious.
Everyone has their own opinions and thats never going to change. People are never gonna stop being racist, people are never gonna stop bagging on themselves. People are never going to stop fighting.
Now you can argue that but whats your proof?
Look at our history, its all there. You may have people who wont do that but what about the others?
Yeah, we have had plenty of people fight for their rights, like Martin Luther King. But I still don't think this world is ever going to be peaceful because there are always going to be people who discriminate agaisnt other people simply because they're different.
But since there are some people who do stand up and fight for their rights to be equal, I guess there is some hope in the world, lol.
I agree with most of what you said, especially about people putting themselves down. I do this a lot and know how much it really can effect how you live and think. There is only one thing I disagree about. Sure, we all die one day, and then it doesn't matter how you lived your life because . . . well, you're dead. But do you think we should all just sit around waiting for death? No, people should strive to make every day as good as it can be, even if it's just going out and spending a day with
Good to hear. =) I'm afraid I don't always make my points very clear because I sometimes forget to put things in that back up my point, lol.
your friends. In my opinion, that's the meaning of life, simply to make every day worth living. And then when you die, even if there is no afterlife, at least the time you did have was good.
I agree, but what I meant is that there is no overall point to life if we are all going to die and not have anything happen to us after death. Basically, what I mean is, when the Earth eventually kicks the bucket, everything that we have worked hard to achieve on this planet would have been lost and there will just be no point to anything after that.
I don't mean you shouldn't live your life to the fullest while you're alive, I just mean in the end it is going to be rather depressing, lol.
I've been thinking about this, and now I think I understand what you meant :)
i am a christian (not a stong one but a chrisian.) but i have a diferent view on stuff than other of my kind. I have no problem with gay and lez couples. and never did. they have as much right to be togther and get married than anybody else. my best friend in school is lez and my second best friend is bi. i'm sorry the bible dised black people but that what people thought along time ago when it was written. its like when u read a book written long ago and they use words frowned apon in
in todays time. i'm not saying its right to do so but its just how it was and we can't change the past. anyways whos to say what life realy is anyways. maybe its just human nature to suffer and fight and can't be helped. idk. and its true most people do hate there life or how they look its cus they wanna be something better, something there not, something there not suposed to be. its just how people r. its how its always been. life would be nice if those songs were true but in away there both
correct about life and not correct. life is how u see it. i realy hate to quote miley/hannah but "lifes what u make it so come on lets make it right!"
also if there was no suffering in the world u would be unable to see the good in life. just saying. and its n ot like were not trying to help the suffering people. many people r trying to help. theres good in life. theres bad in life but don't shut out all the good in life.
I have nothing agaisnt religious people (only the ones who take it to the extreme and kill themselves over it...), I just don't like how religious people in the past used to act (e.g. Hating blacks, gays, etc.). I know there are still a few people like that today, but I am sure they are in the minority now. And also, religion has caused many wars in the past unfortunately.
Anyway, just wanted to point this out because I couldn't care less if someone was a Christian or whatever. So I am sorry...
...if I caused any offence to any religious people (this goes to all readers) because you should live your life the way you want it. I am not telling anyone to not be religious, I am just stating my opinion about what religion has done to the world in the past.
Anyway, you had some really good points in your comments. I agree that if there was no suffering, we wouldn't even no what the good points to life were. Someone once told me that if everything in the world was perfect then...
...there pretty much would be nothing to achieve. Everyone and everything would all look the same and there would be no distinguishing characteristics that make us unique. But I do think it is sad that there is suffering in the world, but I think it is inevitable in the long run which is pretty much why I entitled this story 'why I no longer have any hope left for the world', because I don't think this world will ever be completely peaceful.
If the world was completely peaceful, people would just go out and do horrendous things because life would be boring. You always do the same things, live your life, and die. But for it to be peaceful, everyone would have to feel like everything they wanted was there for them, and that is impossible.
And the christians are barely notable in the religious wars. Muslims are THE WORST. I mean really, what kind of god promises eternal bliss to a man who blows himself and dozens of innocent women
and children? Just...really?!?!!?
I do not agree that there is no hope for the world, and I also do not believe that the earth will one day 'kick the bucket'. I think there is a reason for all things, so beyond us it is unimaginable. I know that sounds stupid, and doesn't help anyone when their life is destroyed, or something awful happens, but I do believe in such. People are so ready to completely dismiss all thought that there can be no reason, simply because no one has come up with.....
