Don't Have One Yet.....

It's a cold night, but being outside is worth it. Trust me, I would much rather be where I am now, legs folded, hands rubbing together for warmth. Than in my house where my Mom and Dad are still yelling at my little brother. The sky is clear, every star burning brighter than the one before. I listen to the wind in the trees, everything out here is completely calm and quiet. It's actually a little quieter than normal.

"You've been out here for a while, Brown Eyes... What've you been looking at?" Says a voice behind me.

I gasp and jump up.

"You look disappointed... Expecting someone else?" He says with a head tilt.

I shake my head. Still too in shock to speak. he has deep green eyes, with brown and blue flecks. And short brown hair. But there's a glow around him... An unearthly glow.

"What's wrong, Brown eyes?" He says tilting his head again.

I shake my head again.

"Who are you?..." I say suspiciously. He shouldn't have been able to sneak up on me.

"You don't sound too happy about it." He says smiling. His smile makes my heart drop. When I don't answer, he says "Well... Isn't it obvious?"

"I'm not following." I say.

He chuckles. Very quietly, but I see his shoulders move. "I thought she would have told you. But, I guess I'll have to explain it myself. Though I don't mind staying here longer." He raises his eyebrows to see how I take that. My heart beats faster.

"First, we need to get away from here." He motions toward the house. "Like a park or something."

"Oh, ya. Ummm... There's a park uptown. I got my car taken away, so-"

"Walking's fine" He says grabbing my hand.

My heart races and my knees get weak. He notices my change and smiles.

"What you do to me..." He whispers.

I pretend not to hear, and try to slow my heart down. Why am I feeling this for someone I don't know?

"Wait" I command, pulling myself together.

He tilts his head again. (I guess he does that every time he has a question.)

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't know you." I say, slowly backing up.

"Don't you?" He says. "Trust me, this will all make sense when I explain.

"Uhhh... Ya. I bet. I'm not stupid! Why should I 'trust you'?" I say with finger quotes. "You randomly walk into my yard at 10:00 at night and expect me to go somewhere no one else will be?! Plus you're a guy."

He smirks. "That makes me bad?"

"No! That makes you... Never mind. The point is that I'm not going with you! Bye." I walk away. I don't hear footsteps behind me, so I figure I'm safe.

"Til we meet again." I hear behind me. I turn around, but he's gone.
