Chapter 1

Crashing Into That Tiny Blue Planet

by: Dudete
Caleb grinned. A tiny blue planet stood ahead of them, and it looked like there was life there. He was a little nervous about landing, since he had never done it before.
" Want me to try?" Dodge said hopefully, running his fingers through his shaggy blue hair.
" Don't, Caleb, I would really enjoy us not to crash in there."
That was the third member ofthe spaceship, Cloeh. She was more silent, by still had a sense of humor. Her hair was waist-lengh and The darkest blue that Caleb had ever seen. She had the piercing green eyes of any Vhandu.
Caleb turned back around to face this tiny, uncharted blue planet. His long braid hit him on his back as it settled.
He took a deep breath and grabbed the control sticks. This was gonna be a true test of skill.
All went well until the ship started shuddering. Suddenly, it tilted left, taking everything that wasn't secured with it. Then suddenly right, then back left, and up all the way in a circle.
" Caleb!" both Cloeh and Dodge yelled.
" Not my fault, I can't control this thing!" he protested.
Cloeh tried to make her way to the front, but toppled over as the ship turned up-side down. Caleb looked at the camera monitors just in time to see the ship covered in flames before the side cameras went out. The back and front ones were already dead.
" Caleb!!!" came Cloeh's scream.
Caleb felt himself starting to move away from the control panel. He seized the contol sticks and jerked them up, hoping to get back out of this and into space again. But as much as the engines strove, they couldn't get them back up. All of a sudden the engines died and the fall continued. Dodge had just time to scream something about the emergency engine, when they saw trees and felt an impact. Fortunately the engine had turned on automatically as the others stopped working. Unfortunately, all that did was make them land almost vertically. They didn't crash forward, they just plopped down as if they had jumped up and were coming back down. That resulted in no crushed trees.
Caleb stood up five minutes later, with a killer headache and wobbly legs. He put his hand it on the wall to stable himself.
" Cloeh? Dodge?"
No answer.
