Anyone but You (A Draco Malfoy Love Story)

My mom and dad always told me I was special. Ya real special I thought. I am ten years, old it was summertime and while other kids were out having fun I was sitting in my favorite tree in the backyard reading. I am not afraid of heights so I climb pretty high up, it’s perfect. One day I was sitting up there reading and an owl came. I looked at it strangely. I mean call me crazy but an owl during the day in the middle of the summer not the most ordinary thing in the world. Well from that point on my life was anything but ordinary. I inspected it closely; it had dark gray feathers with black tips on the end. His eyes were a bright gold, he was beautiful. I was shocked when he dropped a letter in my lap. It was addressed to me from Hogwarts. Some sick joke, ugh why can’t people just leave me alone I thought. I climbed out of my tree and walked into the house for lunch, as I walked in I threw the letter in the garbage and greeted my mom with a hug.
As I was eating my sandwich my mom walks in and asks what I was doing outside. “I was just reading,” I mutter. I debated about telling her about the owl but finally I did. “Mom, while I was reading some owl came to me and gave me a letter, isn’t that crazy?” My pale, then red, then finally gathered a smile to her face and asked excitedly “Did it have a letter? Where is it?” I looked at her incredulously “Mom why would you want to see it, it was just some stupid prank.” I said feeling heat rush to my face. My own mother was excited to see that people were picking on me, I am disgusted, but before I can say anything else she jumps from the table and runs to the trash can. She pulled out the letter with a huge smile on her face and practically yells “Tony get in here Nicole got her acceptance letter! She’s going to Hogwarts.” I turned around to see my dad rush in wearing a grin to match my mom’s. I stood up, looked at them both, and said evenly, “Somebody better start explaining… now.”
