Chapter 1
The Beginning : 1800
~1800
"Delia! No!" Lyonel cradled her limp body in his arms. Everyone crowded around awaiting the news on what had happened. I knelled down beside them and took my tools out my black burlap bag. He held on to her tightly, his head on her chest and arms around her. I carefully pulled his hands off her. Then conducted my tests. Some say vampires can not be classified as dead or alive. But of course we had our ways. I carefully held up the serringe with the holy blood in it. The crowd around us gasped and whispered. Blood from the holy grail itself. Blood from Jesus himself. Yes, he's real. Vampires couldn't go to the secret place where they had the blood. Because it would sicken us to be in such a holy place. It was hidden by shamens in a secret under ground tunnel. But we had our doners get it for tragic times like these. She was beautiful, even when she was human. She had been choosen, and the choosen couldn't not accept. When you were choosen by one of the Princes or Princesses of the 14 Kingdoms you were choosen, force or will. The Princes and Princesses couldn't gain their unhuman traits and couldn't rule. Of course no one really died, there were times when the kings were put to sleep along side of their queens and would put asleep for a long time until it was time to awake them for their ruling again. We would be nothing without our choosen. And of course many failed the test each other kingdoms had for the choosen future kings and queens but they were still used for servants and such. We kidnapped them. Or deguised ourselves as humans to get them. And they always fell for our deadly and magickal ways. I looked down at Delia, she had been choosen...Then I woke up from dream land and looked down at my things. The test was that if I poured the blood on her skin and it burned, she was alive. And if she didn;t burn...she was dead...er. I pulled the top of the capsel, being careful not to spill one drop on the carpet. I tipped the capsel. The blood slowly dropped on her skin, just one drop. Then we waited, I waited, Lyonel waited. She didn't burn. And everyone became silent. I put an arm around Lyonel, he really did love her. Lyonel sudden jaked away. "Just stay the hell away from us!" He yelled, pushing me, making me go flying in the table. Breaking it. I sat up and rubbed my head, it didn't hurt, but it would be better if it had never happened. "Just stay away from us! All of you! Just go away!" The crowd backed up hesiantly. He bent over her and slowly carresed her face over and over, whispering, "You'll be fine, you'll be fine. Your just... hurt...your okay..." I could sense him about to break so I got up, dusted off my pants and waved them all away. And they left. Still whispering over it. Then I walked away, heading for the doors and then closing them. "Cause of death?" I turned around and Nicolas and Clark were staring at me hard behind Master Marcus. The Master waited. I looked up in awe. I've never seen him this close. He was one of the Three Vampire Masters, we all had the deepest respect for them. One because they have seen more than we have and two because they were powerfuller then us. They made us.I dropped to my knees in front of him. "Oh, do get up! Tell me how she died you imbosol!" I got up quickly and cleared my throat, "Yes your highness, um it seems,-" I stumbeled over the words, clearing my throat again. "Well I think, from what we know that, um-" "Spit it out!" He yelled. "Delia was poisoned!" Then there was complete silence. Clark and Nicolas looked at me intently. "What?" The Master said dumbfounded. "Who would..." Then he pushed me against the wall. "This can not get out. This has to stay between you and me." I looked up at his tall, dark form confused. He backed up and let me go, sighing dramatically. "If this gets out it'll spread like a wild fire! It'll gradually change and change until it gets to the 13 Kingdoms. And then they'll find out where it started and come back looking at me for answers on why in 20 years ten of the choosen in the Vampire Kingdom have mysteriously died from no feeding, suicide, poisioning, and...murder..." He swalloed hard and shook his head on the last one. Then he eyed me in a deadly way, "How old are you, Eron?" I cleared my throat and said in a voice smaller than I wanted, "Um, 250, your highness." Clark and Nicolas looked as if thier eyes were about to burst from the sockets. And I knew why. The Master turned and looked into my eyes surpirsed. He stared at me for awhile and then looked away with a clearing of his throat. "Well...well, your almost of age to choose your bride...How old were you when you were turned?" I looked down, it was time. I did have to choose a bride...in 15 more years...which to us was felt like a few months...I felt them staring at me and looked up, but not diretly in his eyes. "16, Master." He nodded knowingly. "Yes, it's harder for the younger people who are forced into...this," he said, seeming younger than his 2000 years. He looked up, the young going as fast as it had come. "but, we must be strong like we are expected of and fufill our fate, as rulers of the 14 Kingdoms. You are young, but full of wisdom, which is rare among the young. I see it in you, everyone does. And I think," He said looking sincere, which surprised me deeply, "that you'll be a great king, Eron." I looked up him, a smile on my face. "T-thank you lord." And I bowed down on one knee. " I have the deepest of respects for you." Clark and Nicolas dropped to their knees to, sensing this was over, for now. "I'll add you to the training class. You start tommorow." Then he did a simple and small bow and then turned, his cape tickling my face. And Clark and Nicolas jumped up quickly following him, like the respectful watchers they were. But I stayed there, wanting to cry out. The fake smile seeping from my lips. I had hated being ripped away from my human life, from my family, from the one girl I ever loved. And I didn't want anyone to go through that emotional pain, ever. But it seemed like there was no way out of it.
