The much funnier Death of dimmesdale in the scarlet letter. ( real one also included.)
in honnors english 2 we had an assinment to make the death of Dimmesdale in the scarlet letter funny. i just had to post it on here cus its way too funny not to. enjoy :)
first chapter is the real boreing serious and beautiful written death of Dimmesdale.
second chapter is my funny and "slightly" wrong ending. :)

Supported by Hester, Dimmesdale turned slowly to face all the stunned leaders and people of Boston.
" people of New England, who have loved me and thought me a holy man. I am here, where I should have stood seven years ago with this woman and our child. You have all stared at Hester and her scarlet letter, but there is one of us whose mark of shame you've never shudered at. But God and all his angels saw it. The Devil knew of the mark as well. The man who wore the mark cleverly hid it, so that none of you could see it. It burned my flesh every moment. Behold before you a sinner!"
Then Dimmesdale tore open his shirt, and everyone gasped in shock and horror at what they saw on his chest. He stood, while the crowd stared at their minister. Finally he collapsed. Chillingworth knelt over Dimmesdale, but the doctor's dace was dull and blank.
"You have escaped me, Dimmesdale. Curse you, you have escaped me for good!
dimmesdale responded, "May God forgive you, because you, too, have sinned deeply." Dimmesdale called weakly to Hester and Pearl. " Pearl will you kiss me now? You wouldn't before. Will you now?" pearl kissed his lips, and her tears fell on her father's face. It was as if a spell had been broken. As the child cried over her father, her strangeness and wildness seemed to fall away from her.
"Hester farewell." said the dying man. Hester asked, "Will we meet again? Will we be together forever in the afterlife?" "Hester, " Dimmesdale whispered, "rember our sin. God if forgiving, but we sinned against him when we violated our respect for God anf for our souls. I doubt we'll share eternal happiness together, but God has proved his mercy by what he's dane to me. He gave me this mark, He sent the dark and evil man to keep the mark painful and red hot, and He's brought me here to die as an example to th people that I love. If god hadn't sent any of these punishment to me, my soul would have been lost forever. Praise God. His will be done. Farewell."

hes a character in an old book called the scarlet letter. i inclued the real part first for people unfamilar with the book.
