I thought that her parents died in a fire and that the swing was dangerous because it was old and so was the tree

The parents died by the Earthquake in what-- India? I'm not too sure.
I believe Collin had polio, as said above. The uncle dude didn't want him moving around or anything because he was all he had left of his wife :(
And as also said above, the branch the swing was on was old and breaking... Grr...
And Collins mother died because she fell off the swing and died horribly. That's why the uncle I think closed it off...?
And I don't think Mary had a twin...
