Chapter 1

Enjoy :)

Caitlin Smith handed the man the tickets. He took them through a scan, holding a weird looking device, hovering above the plane ticket.
As he confirmed them, Caitlin walked past again.

Caitlin Smith was moving to California. That meant shopping sprees along with the hottest nails and Golden Goddess spray tans. But still, Caitlin was afraid to move.
Her life would be destroyed.
Her mom and dad? Gone. Her sister? Gone. Her figure skating life? GONE!
As she rolled her suit cases up to a man in an elegant suit, he asked, "May I take that for you?"
His palm wrapped around the handle as he lifted it onto the crate carrier. "Where does my pet go?" I questioned, looking around curiously.
"Let me take that. He'll be packed away at the bottom of the plane. He'll be fine, though." He lifted the cage.
My yorkie puppy, with her adorable bow in her hair, play toy growled in her mouth, whined. Her Angel shaped eyes teared up.
As I boarded the plane, taking my seat in a tan, leathery window seat, we took off.
It was beautiful. Outside, in the midnight stars, an aroma of purple and blue wavy streaks crossed the sky. The plastic wrapped pillows and blankets laid on my lap.
I tore off the paper and handed them to a tall, brown girl passing out snacks.
She took the plastic and dropped them into her waste basket. She offered me the Delta Deli, a pack with playing cards, fruit snacks, a small mini salad with a pack of every dressing, a plastic fork, knife, and spoon, a small soda/juice, and 2 packs of snack things. One had mixed fruits. Oranges, Strawberries, Blueberries, etc., while the other had "Party Mix!"
I handed her the two dollars needed and took the set. I opened my tray and set the food down.
I opened the container. It was navy blue and had "DELTA" in white letters across it. Underneath was a white airplane, with 3 windows and a captain's headquaters.
It opened like a McDonalds Kids Meal. You folded the tops to the side and dug out everything. Soon my lips we're sealed on the diet pepsi. I had numerous refills.
After a while of snacking, sleeping, daydreaming and peering out of the window, I watched the plane drop to a landing.
It skidded across the landing zone.
Every foot was a step closer to land.
"California." I whispered. "Sure is a beauty."
It truly was. The Landing Zone was actually parked ABOVE the water on a bridge.
It shined like the stars, reflecting the lights inside the plane onto the water. There was tall, big buildings with lights lighting up every window.
They was even a beach across from that. A tall shack (The Snack Shack) rose in a Hawaiian style. It had a hay roof. Amazingly beautiful.
I was given my dog, who now had a few extra Chew Toys, which we're sunscreen, a towel, and a surfboard, that squeaked when you squeezed them.
Paris the yorkie was given a pink towel underneath her. It had a flower embrodiary on the right lower corner.
It looks suprisingly comfy. She was cuddled up in the middle.
As soon as I fit my fingers threw the skinny black bars to pet her, she jumped into action and began to lick my hand. She was rubbing her face against the bars. I laughed, and kissed her on the nose. First, I took my purse and zipped it open. I pulled out an eskimo suit for her. I opened the cage. She bounced out and onto my lap.
I zipped the it up all the way, making sure her fur didn't get caught. Then I wrapped a leash around her waist (The coat was a harness, too!) And carried the cage the rest of the way to the second airport.

Soon I was settled in my hotel room. It was HUGE! I had the 21st Floor on a huge penthouse. It had three bedrooms, along with a kitchen, and a mini fridge next to my waterbed. Who knew a 16 year old girl could have ALL this?
What spoiled my fun, was when I jumped on to my waterbed. It went slish slosh, covering my thoughts with dreams. The dream broke when my phone rang.
Mom. Not that I wasn't happy to hear her voice! I was so excited! But it got bad.
"Caitlin, you have to go to school." She said.
