Chapter 1

Chap 7

5 days until competition.
Emily wadded into Dan's room early. She shook him awake, yelling, "Five days until competition! I can't be late to cheerleading!"
See, since Daniel and Emily have to take the bus, they have a weird discount. 1 Person = 3$. An additional kid is only 1 buck. She didn't want him to waste his money.

As they had there bags packed, Daniel's filled with a spare football and equipment, as Emily's filled with practice clothing, sneakers, a water bottle and hair tie. They slipped into a dark blue/gray leathery seat.

The bus went off in a rumble.
"So-- mom has been a real bx!tch lately." Emily spoke up.
"Gawd, I know it. She just loves you-- while poor Daniel is the unathletic, bad graded, unbehaved kid." His eyelids drooped over his eyes, hiding the tears that were moments away from sprouting out.
"Did she miss the whole football thing? You got straight A's last report card!" She yelled. "But I'm not sure about that last little detail." She teased.
Daniel rolled his eyes. "I hope you win the competition." He said softly.
"I hope so, too. Think about it-- Californian Cougars beating Lions!" Her hips shifted to Daniel's position.
"Sure would be spectacular." He said.
They both listened to the bus skid to a stop.
She peered outside puzzled.
"This isn't Spirit Zone." She had a curios look on her face.
She popped up and yelled to the driver, "Yo! Why are we stopping?"
He looked in the mirror so his head reflected back to Emily's.
"Out of gas. The only way to get to yee destination is walking the next half hour."
He said.
Emily slowly shrugged.
"You're actually considoring this?" His brother's eyebrows topped over his eyes.
"It's either that, or missing practice." She said.
"Yah okay step out of the seat."
They walked down the ail. As the driver opened the door, he said, "Yah brave kid."
