Waking up... not again. I hated mornings waking up to sprogs coughing and maser’s snoring. They were my brothers. The alleyway reaked of twoleg trash and Sprog's sickness. My sisters, Lilly and Viv, were aleady up prepearing for Darren. We had to give him food, and still have enough for us. Our parents left a few moons ago, i cant believe they didnt take darren. Instead they left him as our caretaker, what a great job he’s been doing. He doesnt care for us. He doesnt do anything but push us around. I’m the oldest of this litter and i cant even protect them. “Tiger! Hurry up we need three more mice or it’s your head!” that was Viv. It was too late i could hear darrens arrogant paw steps tramping down the alleyway.
“Where are you little kits?” his growl rose up from the sides of the alley. Great already annoyed you could tell by the way growled. He came into the alley and shoved my younger brothers roughly. “get up!” he snarled. “you should be hunting for me not sleeping!”
I hissed but he stopped me with a hard glare. He stalked over to me and cuffed me hard around the ears, my sisters cowered by the pile they had built for him, Darren turned his attention to them. He didnt hit them as much or push them around since they were girls and his little sisters, i guess he had some sort of sibling love. He looked approvingly at the meager pile and flicked three pieces of prey that were less than choice and flung them across the alley. Finally he took the pile and left. Sprog was sputtering horribly by now, lilly went over to comfort him. I loved my brothers but i no longer wanted to care for sprog he was hopeless, he was always a sick kit and now we would have to leave him behind. He obviously wouldnt survive the trip we were going to take. I couldnt stand darren anymore and my other siblngs were suffering, it was time to go.

We left at moonhigh knowing darren was out by the resturants, sprog wheezing behind us as lilly carefully helped him along. I trodded ahead and scampered across the thunderpath, looking out for my younger brother maser.
"C'mon guys." I said urging them on as they follwed me across. None of my siblings looked back at the alleyway, our only home. We coursed through the city but had to stop in the park for sprog, he was wheezing harder than ever.
"We cant just leave him here." Lilly said frantic.
"Would you rather all of us get caught by Darren! He'd kill us!" I hissed at her.
"Then we need to find a hiding place." Viv cut in.
"No. Sprog and I can go find a twoleg that would take us in." That was lilly again.
"Are you crazy! We cant seperate the family, we have to stick together!" Viv yowled at her till I cut her off.
"Lilly's right. We have to seperate sometime. Or else we will never get to where we want to go." I nodded to Lilly a signal that she could go. "Don't forget about us."
"We wont." This was the first time Sprog spoke up from his wheezing. He needed to get help and we couldnt do anything. Lilly helped him to his paws and slowly walked with him towards the skyliner buildings. Viv looked over at me.
"What do we do now?" she asked in a meager tone.
"Walk faster." I said ignoring her pity look "Lets go."
