The Secret War of Dana Thompson (1)

Dana sat on the end of her bed and sighed to herself. Why wasn't Harry answering her calls? This could only mean it was over between them. She put her head in her hands and tried to hold in the tears. Dana and Harry had met three years ago at a school dance. He had immediately taken to her and it wasn't long before they were going out. But over the past few days, Harry had been distant from Dana and never picked up the phone.

Dana's brother, Chris walked into her room and fumbled through her wardrobe, trying to find his jacket.
"You need to stop nicking my stuff, dude...Where's that freaking jacket?" He muttered, kicking a soft clown toy out of the way.
"It's in Henry's room. Chris, do you think I'm an excuse for a girl?" Dana asked, hoping for a motivational answer that would make her forget would an idiot her brother was.
"Yes. But hey, I'm your brother. You didn't expect me to say no did you?" Chris laughed before walking out. Dana's eyes slipped shut and she laid down slowly on my bed. Why did the world hate her so much?

Dana woke up to the sound of Mum and Henry having a make out session in the kitchen. Mum was giggling and Henry was telling her not to 'touch him there'. It was disgusting. Then Henry said something quite definite.
"We should send Chris to military school, I think..."
Well, that woke her up.
