Outside the box

You could use quite a few words to describe Oscar. Bored, stressed, confused. You could go on for ages. Oscar wasn't normal. He didn't socialize very well. He had no friends, no one he could trust or rely on. He didn't see his mum a lot. She was always working or at the pub. The location of his father was unknown. He didn't live in a very nice place. There were gangs everywhere. Name any street corner, pub or school, there was either a drug dealer, drunkie or hobo (or three at the same time).
Oscar's new school was an absolute mess. There were bullies everywhere. Lots of people skived school. Oscar probably wouldn't. He had what most people his age didn't: common sense.
