My Heart's Desire (Poem)
I usually don't write poetry, but I felt terrible today & decided I should try it since I have writer's block today. Let me know what you think :)
My Heart's Desire
My heart's desire
Is to have one love me
More than required
To be there for me
In times of sorrow
And the day after tomorrow
To hold me when I'm sad
And rejoice with me when I'm glad
To understand me like no other
And understand that I'm as fragile as a feather
Yet solid as iron
That I put up a good front
But I can sometimes be very blunt
I don't want to come off too strong
I just want us to get along
Just like in The Notebook
When Noah stayed by Allie's side
Instead of jumping in his ride
And finding another girl to take
While his wife's life was at stake
My heart's desire
Is to find my true love
Because everybody's other half is out there
So, I really hope you're out there somewhere
Because, without you, I don't care what goes down
It just wouldn't matter without you around
