Tails of a Cat & Dog

I yawned & stretched. I pawed at the metal cage, yowling for food. The lady smiled & gently put in some food. I didn't mind her, but she wasn't mine. I was all alone today in the cage. The rabbits, puppies & Guiena pigs were still asleep or just waking up.
I roamed around, bored out of my mind again. By mid-day, I had been petted by numourous people, none of them were right for me, until I saw her. She was a big lady with fair, straight hair. I purred in joy as she looked over at me. She approached & I purred louder.

"Oh god" she smiled at me. She looked over at the lady. "Can I?"
"Sure thing" the lady replied, smiling.

As soon as the new lady opened the cage, I climbed out onto her shoulder & purred madly. This lady was going to be mine, I just new it. She spent a bit with me, then put me back & smiled. She'd be back.
I was right a few days later, but surprised when I saw who she'd brought: a tall man & 3 children of different heighs. I knew I'd picked correctly. My ginger brother yawned & stayed in the litter box.

"They won't have me" he yawned, smiling at me from his box.
"I know" I replied, purring. "They will be mine forever!"

The lady showed the family to me & the girl opened the cage. She reached in & picked me up, smiling & gentle. Her brothers were lovely too.The father stratched my head & then looked outside & smiled.
