Chapter 1

On The Walls

A long time ago, it is said that a young boy died mysteriously in an old house, around the Victorian times. No one knows how or why, only that his favourite thing in the entire house was his mothers metronome, which is a triangle of wood with a metal handle that swayed back and forth to keep you in beat if you were playing the piano. The metronome was hidden in the house when he died.

There was a girl called Nisha who had a little brother called Luke. Luke always liked to paint on the walls. Once he got his hands on some paint, and of course, he started to paint on the bathroom walls. Nisha could always tell when he did because she could here a dripping on the walls. Anyway, the family moved into the house and settled in quickly.

One evening, Nisha found an old metronome in the attic, and saw that it still worked. Tick Tock Tick Tock. She smiled. Just like a clock. She layed it on her bedside table, after making sure it the handle was held into place so it would be ticking and tocking all night.
"Nisha!', It was Luke, "Look what I got!" Nisha sighed. He had a large bottle of red paint. "On paper Luke, not the walls-" It was too late, he giggled and ran into the bathroom. Nisha's Mum and Dad were out, so she was in charge.

Luke somehow locked himself in the bathroom, so he could paint all night. Nisha gave up and went to bed. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Nisha found that the metronome was ticking. Thats weird, she thought. She fixed it then went back to sleep. Tick, tock, tick, tock. Again, she woke up to find the metronome ticking.

She put the handle in place very carefully this time, but realized how quite it was in the bathroom. No laughing, only drip drop drip drop. Nisha got worried so she called in the bathroom. "Luke, are you ok?" No reply. "Luke?"

No reply. Nisha rammed open the door. BANG! Wouldn't open. BANG! Still wouldn't open. She heard the metronome again in her room, more urgent this time. Ticktockticktockticktock!! "Luke!" She yelled. BANG! She rammed the door open to see her brother missing, and the walls covered in red words:

Tick Tock Drip Drop
Why did you leave him?
Why did you leave him?
Drip Drop Tick Tock
You're next.
You're next.

People say that if you repeate this several times in a locked room, the words will start appearing on the walls.
