Chapter 1

The Beginning

My P.O.V.
I looked through everyone in the crowd. I saw him there again. I pushed my way though politely saying "Excuse me" and "Sorry" all the way until I was in the clear. I walked up to him. It was a dark haired boy. He looked so sad and lonely, so I walked up to him slowly. His head was down and his hair in his face. I approached him carefully.
"Um, excuse me..." I said quietly and shyly. The little boy lifted his head quickly.
"Sorry, I'll move." he said starting to get up. I gasped.
"No, no! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother you, but you're always so alone that I thought you might like some company." I said still very shy.
"You...Wanna play with me?" he said confused. I smiled and nodded at him. He scooched over and pat the sace next to him. I sat on the little brick wall facing the people. I sighed.
"So, do you like cats?" I said handing him Shomine.
"I..." he said as Shomine curled up into him. She purred loudly and rubbed her cheek on his chest. "Happen to love them." I giggled.
"So what's your name?" I asked happily.
"Oh, my names Sora. I'm sort of an outcast." he said sadly. I looked at him happily.
"My names Yumi. I'm daughter of the king. And I don't care what other people think. I like you." I said. He blushed and I giggled some more.
Sora's P.O.V.
This girl... She's so happy and nice. She doesn't treat me like how other people treat me. She makes me feel like an equal and nothing less. I've never once met a person who's accepted me for who I am... I sat there thinking for a few minutes, petting the cat. She smiled at me once more.
"I think we're going to be great friends." she said. It almost made me want to cry. To let a tear slip through my solid barrier. She doesn't make me feel like a... Like a... A MONSTER... This girl... Is special... That was the day we first met. That day almost feels like yesterday. But it was actually about 8 years ago. We were both kids then. Aroumd the age of 5 each. Now, at the age of 13, our relationship still holds strong. Maybe even STRONGER than ever before... I walked out of my home, ready to meet up with Yumi. As planned, there she was standing as perfect as ever. Se had her cat Shomine with her, as does she takes her EVERYWHERE. I love Sho, she's almost as cute as Yumi herself, and adds onto her image although Sho has some likeable traits herself, being a cat. Once she spotted me, Yumi gave me a flash of her beautiful smile. Her pink hair shining brilliantly in the warm, bright sun. Every possible aspect of this girl that I met when I was just a kid was a gift from above. Her angelic voice like ringing silver bells in my ears, her pale flawless skin, her simply hypnotizing eyes, her winning smile and small frame. From her head to her toes she was a walking godess of beauty. APHRODITE would be jealous... I walked over to her slowly. Every part of her from the past still held true today, Her kindness and compassion, her love of life, her humor, her looks, her personality. From the moment I fist set eyes on her...
"You're early." she said smiling. I blushed and looked away.
"Well, yeah..." she giggled. Oh, what I wouldn't give...
"Ready for morning practice, then?" she asked happily. I nodded, smiling back at her. We headed over to the practice arena. Yumi was pretty good and she always seemed to beat me. But we had fun practicing together, nonetheless. She was ultra fast today and I had a hard time keeping up. When I thought I had her, I grabbed air. She appeared on my sides then my back then my front. She was too quick. I was almost getting dizzy from all these blurs and turning my head too fast. I was sort of getting a headache. An invisible voice giggled everytime I missed. But I just chuckled and lunged again. I couldn't see one part of her. Eventually, she caught me by suprise and lunged onto my back.
"Gotchya." she said bending over and whispering in my ear. She sat proudly on my shoulders. I started to lose balance, plus I was both shocked and embaressed. She had suprised me, was sitting on my shoulders with her body on me, and it was all too much to intake that I lost my balance also because of the sudden weight added onto my shoulders, though I'll admit that had almost nothing to do with why I was stirring around. The truth is, she was as light as a FEATHER. I had just settled down when she leaned over again.
"Sora-Chan, are you alright? You're face is flushed." just then I started tipping over again and running around like an idiot trying to keep my cool and balance. I totally panicked and my face turned beet red with total and complete. I was utterly shocked senseless by the time I stopped waving my arms and thrashing around. The whole time Yumi yelled things like, "Woah, woah, woah!!!" and "Ah!!!" as if she almost fell off of me. Eventually I calmed down again and she hopped off. She got all up in my face a second later.
"Are you sure your alright? Your face is bright red." she said putting her finger to her chin and leaning in. I leaned back, embaressed. Then I fell over and she giggled. She helped me up just then. 'Man, I'm such a clutz... I don't deserve someone as perfect as her.' Then I shook my head, sighed, and walked away since I was turned so that her back was to me.
"Sora, where are you going!?" she yelled. But I just ignored her and ran off.
