Inked

I was in a field. Just a field. Nothing special. Not to a bystander anyway. No, it was only special to Elspeth and I. It was a place where we would come to play when we were tiny, not even old enough to say each other's names. She was Elf and I was Phee. When we were a little older, she was Speth and I was Elphie. I don't know why this is all coming back to me now. I must be getting old. Weird for a fifteen year old girl. I looked across the field and saw Elspeth. She was meditating again. I smiled, crossed the feild, and sat beside her. I love her more than the air I breathe. She is all I have left. I hear her whisper "He's looking for you. Better go find him". For some reason, this pleases me, though I pretend to be annoyed. Scanning the horizon, I see a sandy haired boy about sixteen or seventeen years old whispering my name. He's coming closer. Closer. I walk to meet him.He smiles. His eyes are gray, like a storm cloud. On his left wrist is a tattoo, in the same place as mine, only he has a crescent moon. We stand on the brink of disaster. I am so confused. We come closer. Closer. So close. It's indescribable how totally right this is. He takes my hand.
And I wake up. I want to cry. I don't know who he is, all I know is that sometime in the future, I will be desperately in love with him. I will be desperately in love, and the balance of the world will hang on this love.
I can see the future in my dreams.
