I've been in some discussions with a couple of vegans who refuse, point blank, to answer this question:

How does eating an egg harm a chicken?

Or this question:

How does wearing wool, whether in your socks, or as a sweater, or something, harm a sheep?

Why is drinking milk so horrendous?

Please answer this, because I'm truly puzzled as to how this is animal maltreatment. The sheep needed the wool to be removed, why throw it away? A chicken will lay eggs regardless of what you do, so eat it

Milk cows and cows with growing calves usually have more milk than they can use, and cows who have had calves continue to produce milk long after a calf has use of it, especially if you milk it. That's actually a nice thing to do for the cow, milking it. So what's the problem here?

I have no idea. I'm an Octo-Lavo Vegitarian which means I eat eggs and dairy products. I do not see how eggs, dairy and wool are bad. Sorry I can't help you there so I know this answer was pointless but I'm bored...

i agree that does things don't harm animals, though u can also think about eating an egg as eating an unborn chicken...i'm not vegeterian, but i don't have anything against them...

But you aren't eating an unborn chicken JulyLovesYa because unless there was a rooster involved, a chick couldn't be formed. A chicken lays eggs regularly without having a chick inside them. You must have the male involved to be able to have a child in mammals. You just do. And there definitely aren't roosters in any place where eggs are collected for store use, just for that reason.

Maybe they think it's subjecting the animals? Like just reaping the benefits from them without much concern for the animals themselves? I'm not sure, that's all I've got

I got an answer from a website, where they think it's 'exploitation' of the animals involved, which is why they don't eat honey. That's the point you were making ICriedWhenDobbyDied . I think its ridiculous. Without the "exploitation" of something else, there is nothing. Without making use of something else, you can do nothing, you can't even breathe. Where is the line drawn? It still puzzles me, but I have an "answer," however dumb.

@mcrmcrmcrmcrmcr: Yes, they are treated wrongly, but that doesn't account for the honey, or the wearing of wool. Both have to be taken care of delicately, or you lose everything you had going.
