Chapter 1.

Yes, here I am, one of the most famous girls in the United States. Stuck going to a boarding school. Yuck. I glanced out of the window, in my history class, the Los Angeles sky was a bright blue. Everything was clear and bright. I loved it, but I'm stuck in a school listening to a bunch of useless facts. This was the confusing part of my life. My foster brother, Anthony was home schooled, and Colleen, my foster sister, was at a different school. Well I guess going to school was better than being locked up in a house all day. My life is seriously messed up. I have been in foster homes sense I was about four. I have no memory of my mom and dad. But someone brought me to a building when I was four, said to change my name and then left. That's all I remember. But something wasn't right about that. Somehow I knew that I wasn't supposed to be there, that there was someone who was looking for me. But who would listen to a scared four year old. No one told me who or what happened to my biological parents.

My name is Hayllie Nicholle Grant. I live in Los Angeles California, with my foster parents, Rip and Cielia Grant. They have two kids, Anthony and Colleen. I'm nine years old and have a very interesting past. When I was four, like I said before my name was changed, I was abandoned at a foster agency. The man who brought me there asked for my name to be changed. I was originally named Maddi. Short for Maddilyn. Don't ask me why it was changed, because I don't know.

A few days ago, someone called the house, asking for me. I answered, the person t the other end said he knew the whereabouts of my mom, and told me to come to Washington D.C. I agreed quickly, desperately wanting to see my parents. So on May 15th I would be flying across the country alone on a hunch that someone in the world knew my parents. Cielia wasn't too happy about this.

"I don't like the idea of you going off on some hunch that someone knows who you are, for God's sake, you're only nine years old." She said in that motherly voice.

"Please, I really want to know what happened five years ago" I begged, almost crying.

"Ok, but don't be surprised if Colleen shows up at your new house in a few years." she said with a small smile. I laughed.

Later that night, we all went out for like a good luck/bye party. We went out to dinner, then we saw a movie, Marley and Me. Colleen and I were bawling our eyes out. Finally we took the scenic route to LAX. There were a lot of tears shed that night. Even Rip who claims he never cries. Even when he is acting, we all laughed and cried some more. I saw Flight 96 to Washington D.C. came up, I knew that it was time to leave. I took a deep breath, turned around and flung myself into Colleen's awaiting arms. She held onto me, and I just cried on her shoulder. Eventually she put me down and whispered,

"Be safe, please, I don't want to attend any funerals for you, okay?" I laughed at her.

"Agreed!" I looked at my foster parents, they were smiling at me. They both gave me a hug and wished me good luck. Anthony gave me a quick hug, I hugged him back.

"Good luck on your new life Hails" he said. I nodded tears just waiting to spill out of my eyes. Slowly I walked towards the gate.

Everyone at the airport was smiling at me. So I smiled back. When I turned around, my I couldn't see my family anymore.

"Ohh well, maybe I will see them again someday" I said to myself, walking onto the runway. And I swear to god I saw Emma Watson!!
