If you were the love, I'd be the desire :: An Ernie Macmillan love story

I walked into the great hall, and made my way to the hufflepuff table with my two best friends;  Ernie Macmillan and Justin Finch-Fletchley. (I've known them since I ran into them in the Hufflepuff common room in first year, and by 'ran into them' I meant that literally. I was walking to the stairs and I ran into them spilling all our stuff everywhere and we have been best friends since.) we sat down and the sorting began. After that, the feast began. "finally!" Ernie whined. "I swear if the sorting went on any longer I would probably have ran up and ate one of the first years." Ernie said pileing food onto his plate. Justin and I couldn't help but laugh at the thought. "So Hannah how do you think our 5th year is going to be?" Justin asked me. "I think it's going to be great since I'm sharing it with my two favorite boys!" I said giggling. "Hannah, we are not boys, were men now." Ernie joked. I pinched his arm. "OWIE!" he cried out. We all laughed.

We ate and talked about almost everything when dumbledor announced that we had to go up to our towers and that our belongings were already up in our dorms. Me, Ernie and Justin walked up to the hufflepuff tower and sat down on the couches. Ernie and I sat on one couch while jutin sat on a big chair. We began to talk again, Justin was telling a story about something he did over the summer when I felt a pair of eyes glued to me. I looked behind me and noticed Ernie turning toward Justin quickly blushing. I shrugged it off and looked back at Justin. "hey guys I'm tired. I best be off to bed." I said to the boys. "good night Hannah." they said in unison. I walked up stairs to my dorm, who I shared with fellow hufflepuff Suzan Bones. Suzan and I have been good friends since first year. I got there and saw Suzan reading. "Hey Suzan." I said causing her to look up from her book. She stood up and hugged me. She let go and said; "I haven't heard from you all summer, whats up with that?" she said laughing. "sorry about that I've been with Justin and Ernie all summer." I replied walking over to my bed. "let me guess, you and Ernie were on plenty of 'dates' over summer." Suzan replied putting air quotes around the word dates. "we were not." I said throwing a pillow at her. "well I'm surprised he hasn't asked you out yet, it's totally obvious he likes you." Suzan said sitting back down on her bed. "he doesn't like me, were just friends." I say in an irritated tone. "really? I saw you guys in the common room. Ernie could not take his eyes off you and everytime you spoke he had a dreamy look in his eyes." she said giggling. "whatever." I replied laying down in my bed. I started to think about what Suzan said, about Ernie liking me. I started imagining what it would be like of we were dating, and I kind of liked it. I got butterflies just thinking about him. think I have a crush on my best friend, Ernie Macmillan.
