Could you survive my school? (a bit different than most.)

Yes, this is really how my schooling (and life) is, with no exaggeration.

(Because I am in college, taking courses that involve a lot of wood working. So my classes are different from those of public high school and middle school.)

Also, some of these things are not directly related to my schooling, but it all connects in various ways.

  1. 1

So, this part's pretty easy: My classes are evening classes. They go from 6pm to 10pm at night.

  2. 2

My school is 25 miles away from my house. it's a half hour each way. (It is the only one in state that has the courses I want to take.)

  3. 3

My classes involve a lot of use of tools (both power tools and hand tools).

  4. 4

I am the only girl in a majority of my classes (in the others, I am one of two girls.) These are workshop classes, after all.

  5. 5

If you fail the equipment test instructors give in the first two weeks of semester, you get kicked out of the workshops and are not allowed back for the rest of semester. (You can retake once.)

  6. 6

If you have three unexcused absenses in a class, you are dropped from the class. (Though, there have been exceptions for people who come in to work on their own time.)

  7. 7

Each of my classes is 4 hours long. (each class meets one day a week though. I am there on tuesdays and wednesdays.)

  8. 8

My instructors sometime require saturday classes. These are usually from noon to 4.

  9. 9

My classes require a lot of work with lumber, and things get real dirty, real quick.

  10. 10

I get home from class around 11 pm. And then I usually have to be up for work at 4:30 am.

  11. 11

In the workshops, injuries happen. The instructors do their best to avoid it, but stuff sill happens. (I've seen fingertips get sliced and nails sanded off. I myself only have scars from chisels.)

  12. 12

In my senior year of high school, I attended two different schools: My main high school in the morning, and a tech school in the afternoon.

So... Do you think you can survive my schooling? (Hey, I totally love it and think it's worth it.)
