A Special Life

Maximum's POV:
"NO!" I screamed, crying. "GET IN!" My parents screamed at me. I reluctantly crawled in the small cage in the scary basement. I heard the door slam shut and I cried even more. That's when I decided to escape. I spent almost two hours finding sharp things on the floor and trying to pick the lock. When I finally got out, I smashed the tiny window and ran outside. I ran as fast as I could, into the woods. I ran more and more, deeper in the woods until I bumped into something and fell down. "What the?" I said and noticed I bumped into another girl. She looked about my age. "Oh I'm sorry!" I said and helped her up. "Oh, it's okay! I'm sorry I ran into you! I was running away from my home-" She started. "I am too! Oh, and my name's Maximum, but you can call me Max." I said. "Cool! I'm Jenna!" Jenna said, pulling a twig out of her brown hair. Then, ANOTHER girl ran up to us, but stopped. "Hi there! Sorry I almost ran into you guys, I was running away!" She said. "WE WERE TOO!" Me and Jenna said together. "How ironic." I said. "Yeah!" Jenna said. "I'm Maximum, or Max!" I said. "And I'm Jenna!" Jenna said. "I'm Victoria." Victoria said. "Hi!" We both said. Then we heard some rustling, so we ran out of the forest to the other side. It was getting closer! So we ran all the way down to an ally! But there was a small opening in it... We went in, and figured out that we were in a big, abandoned movie theater. Like those HUGE ones that rich people are only aloud to come in! And the snack bar was not open! HAHA of course it was! We just have to crawl over the counter. I'm surprised it even HAD food in there! That was... GOOD! So we set up camp there and it was pretty comfortable! I mean, we didn't have to pay for it, we had like, unlimited food, and a giant movie screen! Then, the next few days later, we heard banging. "What's that?" I asked. "I don't know, but we should get outta here!" Jenna said. We heard a, "It's the police! Surrender now!" from the cops barging in. "THE WINDOW!" I whispered/screamed. We all raced to the window and smashed it with some random thing. The police apparently heard, because they were coming that way. We hesitated, until I made a point; "The sewer!?!?!?!". Victoria and Jenna nodded, and we opened the circular sewer grate and climbed down the ladder onto the gross-looking sidewalk. "Eew! Sewer smell!" Victoria said, plugging her nose along with Jenna. I didn't because I don't really mind the smell. We heard a stampede of footsteps walk above us, then it stopped. "Good, we're safe." Victoria said. "What's that?" Jenna asked, pointing to a strange, glowing goo thing. "I dunno." I said walking closer to it. I found a stick and poked it to see if it was poison or acid or something, and it wasn't. "What's THAT?" Victoria asked, pointing to a different colored goo thing. "What's THAT?" I asked, pointing to ANOTHER goo thing. Soon we were all in front of one goo thingy. "1..." Victoria said. "2..." I continued. "3!" Jenna said and we all touched our different goo stuff. "Hmm..." I said, examining the finger I touched it with. The glowing green goo seemed to soak into my skin, and disappear. Same thing happened with the others. We all shrugged and set up a comfy area with the things we took from the movie theater. We slept there for the night, until morning. "Hey guys, there's a spider..." I said, backing away. "AAH! KILL IT! KILL IT!" They screamed. "NO!!! YOU KILL IT!!" I screamed back at them. It crawled closer to us, and I ran out of the way. SUPER fast. I mean, SONIC fast! "What the...?" I said running in sonic speed in circles. "C-can I see a shoe or something?" Jenna asked. I gave her an empty Snow Caps box. Jenna smashed it at the spider, and broke a HOLE through the CEMENT! "AAAH!" Everyone screamed. Then, we saw, A SEWER MONSTER THING!!! AAH! So we all screamed and stuff. Then, time suddenly stopped. "HOW DID I DO THAT!?!?" Victoria asked. "I DON'T KNOW BUT LET'S MOVE OUT!!" I screamed, running (Super fast) towards the ladder. When we got out, all th people on the streets were not moving, nor blinking/breathing. "Hm. It seems like the strange goo we touched somehow transformed ourselves into 'super heroes'. Or more officially, 'people with powers'." I said. "And we all have one! And when Victoria stops time, WE are the only ones that can move!" Jenna said. "Yes yes, but the question is, how many more powers will we get?" I said.
