I can't believe she thinks I would do something like that.
"Your father is just as upset with you as I am." The stare she was giving me was disgusting. "You're grounded for the rest of the week."
"For what?" I hate her so much.
"You know exactly what. Now go to your room." I tried to say something. "I said go to your room." I walked away angrily from her.
If I hadn't talked to Allen at the game, then none of this would've happened. Travis wouldn't be suspended, I wouldn't be grounded, and everyone in school wouldn't be talking about me. The only good thing to come out of this, is that me and Travis are dating.
Wait a minute. That thought just clicked in my head. For the first time ever, I was dating someone. Something I said I'd never do.
It was Tuesday morning. Back to getting a ride from Clark.
"I'm leaving now. Oh, and we're giving three other people a ride too."
"Who are we picking up?" Something tells me he was doing this on purpose.
"Just some friends." Definately something he's not telling me. I ignored the thought and followed him to the car. "Ah, you have the back seat today." He smirked and closed the passenger side door.
We pulled up to a house that looked unfamiliar. It was Allen's house. My face turned pale white. This would be so awkward.
"Hey Scarlette." Allen was sitting in the front with this huge grin on his face. I looked away.
At the next two houses, it was two more friends that were just as bad as Allen. Clark made me sit in the middle seat so Nathan and Grant wouldn't feel uncomfortable sitting so close together. Nathan was the one that passed me the note yesterday. I looked up at him. He was sitting a little too close for my liking.
"Did you like my note?" I felt his breath against my ear. "There's a party on Friday, how about we do it then?"
I'm not going to say anything to him. There won't be another repeat of yesterday.
The drive to school felt so long.
"Scarlette," I turned around. "There's no lacrosse practice today, so we're giving them a ride home again." He looked so amused with himself.
"Well, I also need to run some things over to Travis. So we're stopping there too."
"Fine." I turned towards the school and walked in. It felt like it always had been before Travis. No one would say anything to me, there wouldn't be any problems.
The day went by fast. I gathered the homework and notes for Travis and walked to Clark's car.
"You're sitting in the middle again." Nathan walked next to me with his arm draped over my shoulder. I tried pushing him away, but he would just put it right back.
"We're going to Travis' first."
"What, why?" Why was he doing this to me?
"Because he's the closest." Without saying anything else he started leaving the school parking lot.
Clark parked his car in the driveway. "Alright we're here."
"Can you get up so I can get out?" I asked Nathan.
"No. You're small, you can climb over." He was smiling. Ugh, he was so gross.
I didn't have another choice so I guess climbing over him was my only option.
How should I do this? I unbuckled myself and stood up a little. My hands grabbed the handle of the door and I hesitated before putting my knees on Nathan's lap. "Clark, unlock the door." The door clicked unlocked and I opened it. Nathan tried to "help" by putting his hands on me and giving me a push.
I wasn't expecting that and fell out of the car. The four of them started cracking up. After picking me and my stuff up, I walked to the door of the house.
Travis came to the door. "Hey, thank you so much." He smiled at me.
"Oh no problem." I returned the smile. "The work is really easy."
"Cool. Well, I'll see you tomorrow." I pecked him on the cheek real quick and started walking back to the car. "Oh, and I'm taking you out Friday. I'm not telling you where though." I laughed and waved to him.
He went back in the house and I opened the car door. "You're climbing again."
I sighed. He was so full of himself. I crawled over him again and sat back down. As soon as Allen left, I was thrilled.
"You're a soulless person, you know that?"
"It's better than what you are." We made eye contact through the rearview mirror.
"And what might that be?"
"Easy." I can not believe him. "You're the new Shelly Norred." I looked away from him as the silent tears fell down my face.
"I didn't do anything with him. I hope you know that." I got out of his car and walked inside the house. Without saying anything to anyone, I walked up to my room.
I sat down on my bed and cried. Is that what everyone at school sees me as?
I'm easy because of some stupid rumor?
