love and hate part eighteen (by lily! dark night love story gone horribly wrong!)

later that night...

The black limosine pulled up outside of the "Nigma tech" building where everyone was crowding around Edward Nigma who held a blonde woman's arm. Anna took a step out of the limosine with one hand in Bruce's hand and photographers crowded around them with their camera's snapping at all angles. Dave got out on the otherside watching Bruce and anna with a cold stare but no one seemed to notice.

"Bruce darling! you look fabulous! and who is this lovely Lady on your arm?" said Silvia Lyn a famous reporter/gossip magazine writter in Gotham. Bruce slipped his hand around Anna's waist and said "Anna Kyles and we have been seeing each other for months now" Silvia's eyes grew wide. "The dancer? When are you planning to pop the question Brucey?" Anna looked up at Bruce who had frozen and he wasnt the only one; Dave and Alfred were also frozen. Anna nudged Bruce slightly.

"Um, I dont know yet but..."

"When he does you will hear me scream "Yes!" on the top of my lungs" finished Anna. Bruce looked down at her thankfully. They then walked in with Dave who instantly walked over to young beautiful girls his age and flirted with everyone of them. Bruce and Anna had began to dance when Edward walked over to them. "Hello Edward. nice party." Anna said politetly. Edward looked at her up and down, her dark green dress was tight around her chest but cassaded down and around her in frills and she wore a black sash tied around her waist.

Edward grabbed Anna's gloved hand and pressed his lips against it. Bruce took a deep breath and tried not to lash out at him for even looking at her, but he saw Anna didn't want anything to do with him and he trusted her. Anna quickly retracted her hand and slipped it into Bruce's. "May I have this dance with Anna? For old times sake?" He asked. Bruce looked at Anna who was hoping he would say 'No' but he just nodded his head and Edward grabbed Anna and dragged her to the dancefloor and pulled her up against him. Anna tried to look over at Bruce to signal him to take her back but he disapeared into a green room where Edward had givin a presentation.

Edward's hands slowly slipped down her back and onto her backside, she tried to pull away but he wouldn't let her. "Not this time Anna Rose Kyles." He whispered in her ear. Anna looked around and spotted Dave standing next to the punch bowl looking for someone. Edward spun her out towards Dave.

"Dave!" she hissed when she was closest to him. He looked over to her as she was pulled back into a forced dance. Dave put his glass down and walked over to them smiling politly.

"Excuse me, may I borrow Miss Kyles for this dance?" He pulled her out of Edward's grasp before he could answer. Anna slipped her hand into Dave's hand as he placed his other hand on her waist. "Are you ok Anna? Who is he?" Dave asked as they slowly spun on the spot. Anna opened her mouth but the door banged open and Two-Face walked in with a black haired girl in a skimpy outfit. he pulled out a gun and all his henchmen ran in with loot bags thrusting them into peoples faces demainding money and jewerly.

Anna looked around for bruce and saw him slip out the window. She rolled her eyes as Dave tried to follow after him. "Stop! Edward is watching." Dave froze at this information but he didnt know why. She stood in her tippy-toes and whispered in his ear "He's the riddler" Dave turned around and looked over at Edward who was definatly watching their every move. "Wait for Batman to distract them, then go get changed" Dave nodded his head. Batman suddenly swooped in through the sky-light showering everyone with safety glass.

Anna watched as Batman fought the henchmen, she turned to talk to Dave but he was already jumping out the window. She looked over and Edward who was hissing into Two-face's ear but Two-face seemed unfazed on both sides. Suddenly, Two-face and his minions turned their heels and ran out the door almost egging Batman on. Batman followed after them while everyone in the party began running around, either trying to find a different exit or find someone. Anna started pushing through people trying to get to the front door but a pair of hands grabbed her waist and dragged her over to a corner.

She turned around and saw Edward grinning madly. "Let me go!" She squealed as his grip got tighter. She tried to hit him but he grabbed onto her wrist and pinned her against the wall. he had gotten stronger since that night they had spent together. He grabbed her sleeve and tore it and begain nibbling at her neck, slowly travelling down. "Help!" She yelled grabbing Commisioner Gordan's attention. Gordan ran over and pulled Edward off Anna who was trying to hold her dress up.

"Leave this young woman alone." Gordan said through bared teeth. Edward looked from Anna to Gordan and slowly slinked off into the crowd. Gordan turned to Anna and his eyes lit up like candles. "Anna?" he pulled her into a bear hug and they began laughing. "How is your father?" he asked. Anna's smile widened as she knew Gordan very well; he was a close friend to her family.

"He's great, but he wants to go fishing with again. Something about you being his lucky charm?" Gordan laughed at this. Anna saw Batman and Robin slip into the limo and Alfred waved his hand hurriedly. "I've got to go, Bruce got hit with a champain bottle so we need to get home and fix it up." Gordan nodded his head and watched Anna run out the door holding her dress. 'She grew up into a beautiful girl.' He thought as he pulled out his phone to call in his officers.

Anna jumped into the limo and sat next to Batman and sneezed. She looked at him and rolled her eyes, he was covered in dirt and gravel. "What happened?" She asked unenthusiastically. Batman and Robin looked at each other and took off their masks.

"It was a trap..."

"...And I saved him and he is complaining!" finished Dave. Bruce raised an eyebrow and turned and looked at Anna.

"What happened?" He asked jesturing her torn dress. Anna pulled her green ribbon out of her hair and fixed up her dress so she didnt have to hold it all the time. "Anna...."

"Edward. He grabbed me from behind and pushed me up against the wall..."

"Turn around Alfred." Bruce said coldly. Anna touched his arm to calm him down but he just turned his head around and stared at her with cold brown eyes. "I trusted you..."

Anna pulled away shocked. "I fought back! I yelled out!" Bruce turned his head away rejecting the thought.

"Bruce she didnt want to." said Dave softly. Everyone turned to him in shock, well Alfred looked up at the mirror. "When she was dancing with him she tried to get away and I had to go over and help her. Look at her wrists." Bruce carefully took the gloves off and saw huge finger bruises wrapped around her wrists and fore arms. "Does it look like she wanted this?" Dave asked coldly. Bruce traced the bruises and the healing cuts while Anna tried not to wince.

"I'm sorry Anna, I shouldn't have let him dance with you. I was trying to show you I trusted you." Bruce said bowing his head. Anna softly lifted his head and softly pressed her lips on his. Dave coughed and Anna slowly pulled away. "So what happened?" Bruce asked. Anna filled him in on all the details while he looked at her intensly.

"So What happened while I was Dancing?" she asked. Bruce's expression grew dark.

"I was looking at the new "Box" and someone turned it on. It was like I was intranced, i couldn't move or look away from the screen. Then there was a big bang and the walls shook and the "Box" stopped for a second, letting me pull away. I then got changed and I followed him into a trap..."

"Where he was rescued by me!" Bruce turned at Dave giving him the "Shut-the-(F)uck-up" face. Anna rolled her eyes and pulled her gloves back on. Bruce and Dave bickered all the way back home while Anna daydreamed about the times where life and love were so simple and so easy...
