Chapter 1

It Doesn't Matter...

"But I love you, Adam." I said. "You can't love me, Allison. I'm gay. That means I like guys." He replied. "I know what it means and I don't care! I love you for more than a friend! And if you want to see it or not, you love me, too!" I said with tears welling in my eyes. "I love you. As a sister, a friend. You're just confused about which love is which. When you find someone that you love, you'll figure out that you only love me as a friend." He said. "But-" He cut me off by placing his index finger over my lips. "I have to go now. I'll see you this weekend." He said kissing the top of my hand. Tears ran down my face. He got in the car with his parents. He smiled and waved. I could only give a small wave and a broken heart smile. "But I do love you." I whispered as they drove away.
"Allison!" Jean, my boss yelled throwing a huge pile of dishes out me, waking me from my day dreaming. I snapped up. Furious. "Wake the f+++ up! You have a job to do!" She yelled. Her round, pudgy face matching her (dyed) bright red hair. I gritted my teeth. "If you wanna dream, you can do it at home after work! Get you're azz out there and work!" She demanded pointing towards the doors going into the restaurant where the people was eating. "Stupid little b++++." She growled walking out the back door. "Alli!" Bush, the cook yelled nicely from the window. I sprinted over, knowing some orders were done. "Table 15 has the burger, drink, fries and salad, table 12 has the milkshake, chicken strips and chocolate sundae and table 19 has the large cheese burger basket." Bush said handing me the food and tickets. Him and the other waitresses was nice to me but Jean was a straight up b++++. "Thanks, Bush." I smiled walking towards the doors. "Alli." He said stoppping me. I looked at him over my shoulder. "Don't let her get to ya, She's just jealous." He said. "Thanks, Bush." I smiled and started for the tables. I headed towards table 12. There was a mother and a little boy and girl. The boy looked to be 11 but the girl looked to be 6. I walked over to them. The little girl looked up and smiled at me. Her straight hair falling from her little nose. "Hi!" She said cheerfully. "Hey." I smiled back. "Which is yours?" I asked getting down to her level. "The chocolate!" She pointed to the Hot Fudge Sundae. "It is?! Well here you go!" I said handing it to her. "I'm Ally, what's you're name?" She asked. "Ally!" The woman scolded quietly. "It's okay." I said to the woman. "I'm Allison." I said holding my hand out. She took my hand the best she could. "Nice to meet you, Ally." I smiled. She didn't reply. Her whole focus on the Sundae. "Ally, what do you say?" The woman asked the little girl. "Thank you!" She said proudly and cheerfully. "You're welcome!" I replied. I got over to the little boy. "I guess this is yours?" I asked handing him the milkshake. He shook his head and pointed to his mother. "Oh, it's her's? Well I'm sorry for the mix-up. I didn't mean too." I said sitting the milkshake down and handing him the chicken strips. I could tell he was very shy. I handed the woman the milkshake. "If you need anything else, just let me know." I smiled. "Thank you so much." SHe smiled warmly. I nodded. I walked over and finished my last few orders.
I started towards the kitchen. Marcy walked out. "There's a really hot guy in there waiting for you." She smiled widely. I forwarded my brows in curiosity. She shoved me through the door. Adam was sitting on the counter. "Adam Lambert!" I exclaimed hugging him. "Allison Malone!" He laughed hugging me back. "You're supposed to call!" I said hitting his arm. "I'm so sorry! I got caught up at work." He said. "Well, I guess I can let it pass this time." I said fighting a smile. He laughed. I hugged him again. "It's been a few months hasn't it?" I asked. "Since the summer? Six." He answered. "Gosh, I can't believe you've been gone for six months. I've missed you so much!" I said hugging him once again. He laughed. "I don't plan to leave for another job again. It sucks leaving like this. I don't get to see everyone I know when I leave." He said. "Well, you're home now. That's all that matters." I replied. "Yeah." He laughed. I missed him so much while he was gone. "What hell are you doing standing around chit-chatting?!" Jean yelled walking in the door. "Ma'am, I'm sorry. I didn't know." Adam said nicely. "I don't give a damn! This is a business not a social bar!" She yelled at him. I flinched a little at her high-pitch sharp voice. "I'll see you after work, Adam. I'll be off at one-thirty." I said quietly. He nodded and walked for the back door. Jean's hawk-eyes watching him carefully until he shut the door then she turned her beady eyes back to me. She raised her hand pointing to the door. "GET TO WORK!" She yelled. I walked back out. All the customers were looking in my direction. I brushed it off and resumed my job.

"Adam! Wait! I can't run that fast!" I said running to catch up with him. He turned around. Unaware that I was behind him. "Runaway waitress!" He yelled. I laughed. I had my regular clothes in my purple camo bag. I just hadn't got the chance to change yet. He stopped and waited for me. I caught up to him. "Everyday clothes?" He asked examining my work clothes. "Shut up. I'm going right in this store here to change." I said pointing to a clothing store. I grabbed his hand and drug him in the store and I went into a changing room. I pulled out my black skinny jeans that I had cut the legs making holes in them, my gray v-neck peace sign shirt and my black and white checkered vans. I stripped my work clothes off and shoved them in the bag and put my clothes on. Then I walked out. "You're nails look awful!" Adam said looking at my red nails. The paint was scratched and chipped and my nails had no shape. "I know. I haven't had time lately to fix them." I explained. "Come on. I'm fixing you're nails." He said dragging me out the door and to the nail salon across the street. "Excuse me, this girl needs nail help badly!" Adam said when we reached the front desk. The lady smiled. They was used to Adam's random out bursts. "I mean look at these nails!" He said placing my right hand on the counter. "Yes, hun you need help with those nails! Jacey!" She called. A girl with honey colored hair and green eyes walked out with a soft smile. "A.S.A.P!" The woman at the counter said. I guess that was nail code or something. The girl motioned me and Adam over and we followed her back.
