So my friend is trying to lose weight...
...long story, which is why I have made this into a story, lol. xD
Enjoy!
Chapter 1
So my friend is trying to lose weight...
...because she is about 14 stone (about 196 pounds), overweight for her height and age and because she said she has just gotten tired of being fat because she has been overweight pretty much all her life.
She has started going to the gym about a week ago, the only problem is... She is still eating like 4 bars of chocolate a day, lol. xD Sometimes when I see her reaching for the nearest chocolate muffin I ask her 'I thought you said you wanted to lose weight?' but she just shrugs and says 'I know I am sorta ruining the diet, but one muffin can't hurt.' But the only problem is that after one muffin, she tends to eat another, a supersized one in fact, lol. xD
Not only does she eat chocolate, she eats chips, french fries, the supersized meals at McDonalds and cake.
She will never lose weight if she keeps eating all of this stuff so often and I thought she would understand that, but she seemed really depressed today that she hasn't lost any weight, in fact she has gained a pound. She feels all of her hard work at the gym has been wasted.
I didn't really think she was taking the whole dieting thing seriously before because she has never really seemed to care about being overweight and neither has anybody else, all of her friends like her (including me) because she has a nice, funny personality. And she has never really compared herself to these super skinny models before and she doesn't seem to care too much about the health risks of being overweight so I don't know why she wants to lose weight now.
She hasn't said why either and when I asked her, she just said 'because I'm fat.' I don't want to see her becoming like some of my other friends have become, worried about their bodies because they don't match what they see in magazines. I have to admit that even I do that and I think most girls do, but she has never once cared before which is one of the things that makes her lovable. I am not saying I wouldn't be her friend anymore if she started comparing herself to celebrities, but I just hope she doesn't get too depressed or obsessed with it.
I just need some advice, lol. xD

Well, apparently if you don't eat breakfast regularly, your body slows down because it doesn't need to work as hard because it doesn't have energy. Therefore, eating is okay, and the occasional treat couldn't hurt. When I was younger I used to want to look like a model, but I realised it's okay the way you are. I'm 3.33 stone i think, but i used to think i was overweight. Tell them to be strong and never give up, they can do anything they set their mind to. Sure it can be difficult at times, but
The thing is, she literally has about 4 chocolate bars + other treats every day, which can't be good for her, lol. Not sure if she eats breakfast, I have never asked her. I don't really know what you mean by 3.33 stone, lol, but I am 9 stone (about 127 pounds) and I used to be 11 and a half stone which was overweight, but I started to eat more healthy and started walking more. I feel better for it though because I don't feel so tired or get any cramps like I used to.
Thanks for the advice btw
well hide the muffins and u diet with her it'll give her inspiration save some time for a small kids sized McDonalds meal on saturday and balance it out with a salad later that day.drink alot of water, and don;t exersise too much because it makes you gain weight.
I don't really need to diet though, lol. I'll try that though, I just hope she doesn't get angry at me for telling her to get a happy meal at McDonalds instead, lol. xD
advice huh o.o
hmmmm
well if she keeps eating junk food then nuthin gunna save her ;..;
just tell her 2 stop eating junk food n eat stuff made by her mom or so,normal food
she doesnt havto do any gym nor sports, belive me
if shes happy the way she is and doesnt eat crap then shell lose weight, slowly but will for sure
hope it helps n kewl story^
Everybody has told her to stop eating junk food, believe me, she has NEVER listened, lol. xD
I agree with the sports thing, I didn't need to do much excercise in order to lose weight.
I don't think she will ever lose weight to be honest because she has eaten junk food all her life, I just hope she doesn't start to get upset about all of this...
Thanks and yes, it is a kewl story, lol. xD
restricting a healthy diet is not recommended. Btw, I'm not that light, I'm actually 9.375 stone, just looked it up. Things can be hard. Just get them to realise that nothing can change who they are on the inside; its not what they look like as a person, but who they truly are. Sure, you can change your appearance, get a different hair cut and it might change people's perspectives on you, although you still are the same person who you were before. Drink lots of water and eat an apple a day aswel
You don't weigh much more than me then. =) I think around 9 stone is a good weight to be, depending on your height. I'm not skinny, but I'm a healthy weight. I agree and my friend has always seemed to care more about her personality until now, she seems more insecure about the way she looks. She is 17 by the way, a year older than me. I think all girls doubt themselves at some point in their lifes, especially if they are teens, but I just hope she gets her mojo back, lol.
This may tend to seem harsh.
PROVIDE HER WITH A LEGSURE.
...... A lecure may help, although you should also try starring towards her point of view. Prehaps my suggestion will help and I doubt you're pal will lost weight without provided motivation. Increase her confidence, self - esteem, MOTIVATION. Before you know it, she'll be decreasing weight with a smile.
Whenever I have tried lecturing her before, she has literally fallen asleep, lol. xD Thanks for the advice though.
lecture is good, reccoment the show i used to be fat? LMFAO sry im so insensitive :(
sports is okay, it helps you to be fit
but if you eat junkfood all the time with it, the sport wont help
haha the 'one thing wont hurt' is very common XD
tell her that its normal, but if she wants to lose weight she'll have to live with it
and that 1 thing does hurt after a while :P
Yeah, all the exercise in the world won't help if you eat 5 giant chocolate muffins every day.
I know, I do it myself. =P
I'll tell her that though.
Tell me about it, especially when that 'one' thing becomes five, lol. xD
it doesn't really sound like YOU care either. i mean, all your replies are mostly about what SHE does. maybe you should worry and think more about what YOU do. you don't necissarily have to lecture her, maybe have a talk with her and tell her about how you feel about this and maybe even TRY TO HELP HER. and if she still doesn't care, then tell her parents to get her a physical trainer to help her. you aren't doing anything! seriously! at least try to do what i told you you should do.
Well i think she should stay fat. im fat and i love it im 240 pounds im 11 but i love playing with my belly so if she wants to gain let her
