Danny and the Wolf (A Violent Cinderella Story)
WARNING! THIS STORY IS RATED PG-13 FOR VIOLENCE!!! I wrote all this in one night. :P
Chapter 1
The Wolf
One gloomy day, while Danny was doing her normal chores, she heard her sisters fighting. Danny had an older sister, Amanda, and a stepsister the same age named Jessica. Her stepmother always gave her endless chores and Jessica added to that. Amanda wanted to help her sister, but was afraid of having dirty work, too.
"The invitation is mine!" yelled Jessica.
"No, the letter was to my father asking for his daughter." said Amanda.
Danny carefully looked behind her and saw what was going on. They had received only one invitation to the Grande Masquerade that would last for three nights at the kings castle. Meredith, the stepmother walked into the commotion. "It certainly is not Danny."
"Of coarse not Mother! That rag doll could never go to a ball!" cried Jessica. Her face was blood red.
"What if it is?" asked Amanda, hands on her hips.
"But it's not." said Jessica calmly.
"Could be"
"No, it is not!" Jessica stomped off to her room as her mother followed.
Amanda and Danny looked at each other with sympathy. "Go work in the yard, Danny. I can finish up in here."
As soon as Amanda said this, Danny smiled and went outside to her favorite oak tree. The tree was covered with ribbons and had a flower bed around the trunk. Just as Danny was about to go inside, and dusk was falling, there was a scream. It was Jessica at the back door. "Wolf! Wolf! There's a wolf in our yard!" she looked at Danny. "Well go on!"
"What do you want me to do? Father should take care of this!"
"You don't want to put your own father's life at stake! Now go!" Jessica ordered.
Danny charged the wolf, and much to her surprise, it ran. When the wolf got into the woods and off the property, Jessica yelled, "Keep going!"
Meredith came to see what was going on. "Hopefully she will get herself lost." she said bitterly. A sly smile crept across Jessica's face.
Danny ran the wolf further and further into the woods when the wolf stopped at a small clearing covered with mushrooms and lit by moonlight. Then, the wolf spoke, "Do not be afraid. I have been watching you for a while now. I want to help you. I realized after it was too late that Amanda was your blood sister. I sent the invitation for you, but since you have a sister, she shall join with you."
Danny was flabbergasted. "But what of my stepmother? And her daughter? Surly they will prevent me from going."
The wolf ignored her. "Tomorrow at the crack of dawn, a letter shall come to you. Be the first to read it." With that being said, the wolf led Danny back to her house and ran off into the woods.
