Desire of the Soul
Okay I don't know why but I got bored and wanted to write this sooo.....
Chapter 1
Who I Am
My name is Annalise. I am a 26 year old woman, who couldn’t wait to grow up and become a part of the grown-up world that I now live in. I wish that I hadn’t been so quick to grow up. I was five when my parents got divorced, I didn’t understand why they got a divorce at that time. I had always thought that they were happy together; they always smiled and laughed together. Later on in life, when I was fifteen to be exact, I found out why my parents had divorced, my father had cheated on my mother with her best friend. After the divorce I heard my mother cry herself to sleep at night. I didn’t understand why she was crying though; she had chosen to divorce my father so why was she crying about that decision. I told myself that when I grew up I wouldn’t let a man control my feelings like my mother had.
Growing up without both parents is harder than you think, sure you have two houses, two TVs, but there’s always that feeling that you are missing something important. I told myself that I would never put my child through that, if I even had a child. At this point I was mad at my father and every man in the world for that matter, I couldn’t fathom why he had done that to my mother when he knew that she loved him with all her heart, why would he just give that up? Then I thought that maybe I was the reason he had cheated on my mother, because he didn’t want me and he was just trying to forget me by being with another woman. Growing up without my father made me who I am today.
Today I am a successful lawyer, with her own firm, if I might add. I go to work every day and make my own money and pay my own bills. I don’t think that I would ever of had the drive to become what I am if I hadn’t seen how bad it hurt my mother and I after my father left us. When my parents were married we lived in a big two story house with two cars in the driveway, and my mother was a stay at home mom. After my father left we were living from place to place. I didn’t want to have to depend on a man to make my world I wanted to do it on my own, so when I turned eighteen I moved out and went to UGA. I spent four years at UGA then transferred to Harvard, and everybody always said that I wouldn’t be able to make, but I just proved them wrong.
Okay, okay enough about the past this story is all about how I met my wonderful husband and the father of my children. Yes, I said children! I’m so happy that we were brought together. I like to believe that it was fate that brought us together. My husband’s name is Jason. He is a Missionary at Church of Christ, and we met because of his job. It’s an amazing story of how we met and I’m willing to tell you if you are willing to listen!
