Secrets All Around Us (6)
"It can't be true! No!!" I scream at my mother.
"Listen to me honey-" She starts but I start to shake with fear and rage. Before I know it, I'm out the door, running toward my motorcycle my dad bought me a few years ago.
I hear my mom yell after me but I'm long gone.
And thus does Jackie Anne's story begins...
David. David. David. That's all I'm thinking. David. He can fix this mess. He can tell me that this is all just a dream.
Because I refuse to believe this. It's too absurd. And to think my MOM believes it..
I shake my head and refocus on the road. I speed and weave through cars and continue racing towards David's place.
David. David. David.
As I pull into his drive way, I make a mental note that his parent's vechiles aren't in the driveway.
A good thing, right?
I knock loudly on the door, while I struggle to take my helmet off. I'm shaking my messy brown curls away from my face when the door opens.
David is standing there, looking as if he is holding back on laughing.
I blush slightly and David moves aside to let me in.
This is so routine like.
"What's the matter Jackie?" David asks me as I plop down on his living room sofa.
Remaining silent, I watch him sit beside me. His light sandy brown hair sways into his face and I bite my lip, complementing what I should say.
"Have you ever had a secret that you can't tell anyone, not even your best friend? Or one that you were recently told but don't believe?" I ask him slowly, watching his reaction calculatingly.
His gray eyes stare straight into my big golden-brown ones as he answers me.
"Jackie...I think it's time I told you my secret."
