Chapter 1

Tea Leaves, Boggarts and Strange Shades of Purple

by: BakaGreen
"Ready to see who's going to die today?" Loki asked Scorpius on the way to Divination. They climbed the ladder to the tower. They were the last ones in and Trelawny was looking at tea cups.

"Welcome, welcome. Today we're going to be reading tea leaves. If you'll please handle the cups carefully...Yes, I'm talking to you Mr. Creevey," she said. The students sat down and poured the tea before draining their cups. "Switch cups,"

Loki looked into his cup, trying to read it with a furrowed eyebrow. "Your going to recieve a present from a...gnome?" he said. Scorpius rolled his eyes and looked at Loki's cup. He couldn't make heads nor tails of it.

"How's it going gentleman?" she asked.

"I don't know, could you help me?" Loki asked. Professor Trelawny took the cup from him and studied it, before flashing a look of sadness at Scorpius.

"You poor, poor boy. This is the sign of unrequitted love."

"That's rubbish," he said, but Lily immediatly flashed though his mind.
"Tsk, tsk," she said studying the leaves even more carefully. "You must be careful. Open up your heart and be able to tell her how you feel, before you lose her," she said with a flourish. Then gave the cup to him. He set it down and couldn't concentrate for the rest of class.

Lily had came from Arithmancy and was heading straight to DADA. Aunt 'Mione was right; the class was great. She didn't get how she could be good at one of the most difficult class but was still scraping by in potions. Scorpius and Loki came in late.

"How was Divinations?" she asked. She knew that only third years had Trelawny, once you survived her for a year you got to have Firenze. He was a centaur and an amazing teacher apparently.

"Fine," he said. She looked at him and before he got a chance to say anything Professor Perkins headed to the front of the classroom.

"Class, get your books away and get your wands out. Get up and move the desks to the sides of the classroom," the kids got up and started to move them. "You call yourselves wizards!" he said moving the rest of them in one fell swoop of his wand. "We're going to be discussing Boggarts, can anyone tell me what they look like?" He looked around the classroom. "No one? Come on? Fine, I'll choose...Potter,"

Lily slumped her shoulders and sighed. "A person's worst fear. No one has ever seen their true form,"

"Correct, ten points to Slytherin. Filch found one hiding in an old trunk. They prefer dark places. A boggart does not yet know what will frighten the person on the other side of the door. Nobody knows what a boggart looks like when he is alone, but when I let him out, he will immediately become whatever each of us most fears. Does anyone know how to defeat a boggart?" he looked around the classroom. "Smith," he said.

"Laughter,"
"Correct, ten points to Hufflepuff. Now the spell to use is: Riddikulus. Now everyone practice saying," the whole class repeated it. "Good now everyone get in a nice orderly line and you'll all get a turn," he said. The class all took turns. The fears were usual: spiders, bees, lightning and the forms they took were funny. "Lily your turn," the professor said. "Are you ready?" the girl nodded as he released it.
Lily had no idea what to expect as he opened the trunk, but the Boggart immediatly took the shape of her entire family; her dead family even little Albus. She fell to her knees and felt weak as James's face turned to her and said, "It's all your fault,"

"Lily," she heard the professor called. She snapped back into reality and said "Riddikulus," a little louder than she needed to. The scene turned into a picture then into confetti and back into the trunk.

"Good Ms. Potter," he said looking at the girl that remained on the floor. "Class is dismissed!" he said as the class filtered out except for Loki and Ronnie who tried to linger, but the professor sent them out.

Lily's face pale and hair stood out even more. "Lily do you need to go to the hospital wing?" he said in a softer voice. She just shook her head. "Mr. Malfoy can you make sure she get's back to the dormitory? The last thing I need is Poppy getting mad, because there's the trivial problem of a student fainting in the halls..." Scorpius smiled a weak smile, Lily would let a Quaffle get through the goal before she passed out in the hall.

He grabbed her bag with one hand and and pulled her up by the arm with the other hand. As she got up he handed her the bag and walked out with her. "Let's go to Hagrid's, I've been meaning to ask him something about class," he said putting an arm around the wooden girl. They walked past a few people who gave them odd looks, but it was okay.

Secretly Scorpius was glad he didn't get to go. He had no idea what form his boggart would take; most likely a picture of his family tree with his name burning. Lily still didn't look that great, he hoped Hagrid would know what to do, because either Madame Pomfrey would roll her eyes or keep Lily overnight.

James had been meaning to talk to Lily for a while, but hadn't got the chance. He saw that DADA had gotten out early. He didn't feel like talking to a Slytherin so he stopped a Hufflepuff. "Zeke have you seen my sister?"

"Check the Hospital Wing, Malfoy's probably with her," he answered.

"Hospital Wing? What did she do this time?" he asked, fed up with his sister's antics, why couldn't she have taken after their mum...Instead she had to act like their dad.

"Nearly fainted facing a boggart," he answered.

"What form did it take?" the Hufflepuff shook his head before leaving. James rolled his eyes and made his way to the hospital wing, cursing his sister the whole time. He was halfway there when he saw Scorpius with his arm around Lily; most likely heading to Hagrid's hut. "Bloody Hell, the last thing I need is my sister to..." that's when he ran into Flint.

"Watch where your going," the large sixth year grunted, he looked out the window and saw them then snorted.

"Sorry I'm trying to find my sister and her boyfriend," he sneered. Flint rolled his eyes. Both boys muttered curses heading out the opposite direction.

It was a Hogsmeade weekend and Lily woke up early eager to go. She was happy not to have to wear her uniform. She put on a purple shirt that had silver writing that said Trouble Finds Me and wore jeans and a sweatshirt with it. "Has anybody ever told you that getting up this early is unnatural?" Imogene whined.

"Come on Mojo, it's Hogsmeades today!" she said with a smile, before skipping out.

"Don't use the water spell Lils! Loki is going to be in a bad mood all day if you do!" Ronnie yelled after her. Lily was halfway up to the Boy's Dormitory, when Flint stopped her. She rolled her eyes as he grabbed her forearm.

"What do you want?" she asked.

"This should stop, Lily," was all he said.

"What are you talking about?" she asked.

"You know what I'm talking about. Listen people are going to get the wrong idea..."

"Please tell me you aren't giving me "the talk" now. My dad gave me that ages ago and besides why should you care? Your not my father or even my brother or my overly nosey cousin for that matter..." he put up a hand to stop.

"Because,"

"Your my Quidditch Captain?" she snorted. "Like that gives you any authority at all! Don't you dare play the prefect card," she said. Flint rolled his eyes and looked at the girl in front of him. She was tiny, but she was stubborn.

"Sorry, for me warning you, but in case you didn't know it sort of gives people the wrong idea if your traispsing in and out of your boyfriends bedroom," That did. Her face went from red to a shade of purple he'd never seen before. He was regretting he'd ever said anything.

"How dare you even suggest that like... Arrgg..." she said waking half the house. "First of all me and Scorpius aren't even dating..."

"Is that why I saw you with your arms around each other?" he asked.

"It's none of your buisness! Besides I'd like you to see your entire family dead and see how you handle it," she ripped her arm out of his grasp and stomped up the stairs. He just stood there as she yelled. "Hope you can find a new Keeper!" he shook his head knowing she was just angry, but...
