Professor longbottom (post war Harry potter)

"ok class, quills down and papers to the front" I called out from the front of the class. The students all passed there papers up to me and packed there inks and quills away "now was that easy?" I said smiling as an echo of NO's traveled around the class "well I took the same test when I was in your year, and got a T! So it is a hard test. Don't feel bad if you get a poor mark" I smiled and a little blonde girl raised her hand in a way that reminded me of hermioney "yes Carmen?" 
"was muggle studies your favorite subject at school?" she bit her tongue and I giggled 
"no. I hated it! Still don't know why I'm teaching it" I gathered there marked homework and began to hand it out. She raised her hand again "yes carmen?" 
"what was your favorite subject then?" I handed a small boy his Paper and he smiled at his mark 
"herbology" I said absent mindlessly and she raised her hand again "yes Carmen?" I said a amused 
"why?" I blushed a little and handed her outstanding paper back
"let's just say there was a boy" I whispered to her and she giggled 
"can you tell us about him? We have a few minutes till lunch. Please!" she said and some of the other students joined in. I walked up to the front and sat on my desk so my legs dangled over the edge
"ok ok quite down. If you promise to work hard on the next test I will tell you" the room nodded and I sighed "ok he was sweet, shy, clumsy-very clumsy and forgetful. You could say not your dream guy but he was different. He had shaggy brown hair and brown eyes you could just lose yourself in and there was one thing that made him completely different to anyone else....he loved hebology!" I looked out on the girls dreamy faces and the boys disgusted expressions "me being hufflepuff and him being griffindor, meant that we had only a few classes together-one of witch was hebology. He was always my partner and I remember once covering us both with stinksap because i was horrible with plants. But he laughed it off and calmly taught me how to fix my mistakes and I ended up passing the class" I got off my desk and picked up my own books ready to dismiss the class when Carmen's hand shot up again "yes Carmen" 
"do you still like him?" I bit my bottom lip and she squeaked "you do! Do you still see him?"
"yes, everyday. Now class dismissed. No homework so enjoy your weekend" I waved my wand at the door and it flung open letting them leave "oh mr tonks I have something for you" I called out to ted tonks (Harrys godson). He walked over to my desk giving his friends a help me look. I reached into the pocket of my robes and pulled out a tatted notebook "it was your dads. When he use to teach me I was very Ill. He made notes about each of his classes in this book so I could catch up. I what you have it" he took the book and tears welled up in his eyes 
"thank you!" he yelled and hugged my middle 
"it's ok" I giggled patting his head "now you better get something to eat" he let go and nodded running back to his friends. I walked through the halls towards my office ready to prepare for the 7th years coming in next period. I dropped one of my books and sighed 
"here" someone said picking it up and handing it to me "just have a test?" you looked up at the face of Neville longbottom, or should you say professor longbottom 
"yer that one I got a T on so...markings going to be nightmare!" I sighed and he took half my books from my hands 
"to your office I'm guessing?" he said and I couldn't help but smile
"you guessed right" he walked me down the hall a bit until we reached a room with the name 'professor cherry lace' printed in gold on the door. I waved my wand and the door opened letting me and Nevi-professor longbottom through. I dumped the tests on my desk and he place the books on a shelf off to the side. I gathered my things for next class and he just watched me "you ok professor?" I asked as I grabbed a yo-yo to show the kids 
"yer, you haven't changed a bit! I mean your more confident but other than that you haven't changed at all"  I looked at him puzzled then tapped him on the head 
"you feeling ok? You where just talking gibberish" he laughed and pushed my hand away
"I meant that you still carry your books in your right arm, you still run your hand though your hair when your stressed and you still smile at that picture of the DA" he pointed to the photo of the DA with you and neville standing next to each other smiling
"I like that photo. I miss the DA. The only time I got to hang out with you, apart from herbology" I shrugged and he grinned 
"still got the coin?" he asked and I reached in to my pocket. I pulled out the gold coin and twirled it in my fingers 
"do you?" he reached into his shirt pocket beneath his vest and pulled out the golden coin "cool. We could talk to each other during lessons" I suggested putting the coin away in an attempt to hide my small blush
"you mean we 'can' talk to each other during lesson" he said grinning and waving the coin in front of my nose. I pushed his hand down and smiled 
"rebel! If the head master finds out we would be in a heap of trouble!" I whisper yelled and he lean forwards pouting "f-fine! Were the puppy eyes really necessary?" he nodded and I sighed "talk to you later" I waved him goodbye and he patted his breast pocket 
"you know where to find me!" he yelled after me and I left the door open. I returned to my class room and set my things down before heading to the great hall to watch over the students. I pasted a young boy picking on a chubby girl 
"hey! Back off" I said kneeling in front of the girl "you ok?" I whispered and she hugged me tight. I looked over at the boy and saw he was bleach blonde with cold grey eyes "mr malfoy. I should have guessed. I will be talking to your father about this" he snorted and I stood up straight breaking the grip the girl had on me "20 points from slythrine for teasing a fellow student and disrespecting a teacher" he glared at me and I crossed my arms "your father use to tease me you know. I suggest you ask him about his prank on me in third year, should put you off bullying as it is very likely to happen to you if you continue with this behavior" he rolled his eyes and I took hold of the girls hand, her small fingers barley fitting around my petite hand. I lead her away from the boy and to the great hall "what house are you in?" I whispered as we entered the great hall 
"r-ravenclaw" I smiled and lead her over to the ravenclaw table "thank you" she squeaked and I let go of her hand. I knelt in front of her and pushed some of her light brown hair from her green eyes 
"if he gives you anymore trouble just come and tell me" she nodded and I leaned in a bit "and your very pretty no matter what those boys say" I whispered and she grinned. I stood up straight and walked towards the teachers table. I found an empty seat next to Neville on the end and tucked in to my lunch 
"your so good with kids" Neville said as I took a sip of pumpkin juice "so you going to the hogsmead trip?" he asked before taking a bit of salad 
"yer. I was hoping to evaporate to George's shop and see how he's doing, and pick up a few dark mark candies for the last lesson of term. Thought I might tell the kids a few stories" I said shrugging and playing with the half eaten chicken leg on my plate 
"mind if I join you? I-I know a few muggle sweet shops you could go to. I really like that pop Lollie stuff" he said smiling and pushing his plate away 
"pop rocks" I corrected him and laid my hands in my lap "and I would love some company" he grinned I pulled the coin from my pocket and flipped it into the air "I'll send ya the details" i caught it and tucked the coin back away before standing up "I have to start on those tests" I rolled my eyes and he laughed a little "see you on Saturday" he nodded and I left. I found my office and began to grade the papers.

I ticked the answer gave him a smily face for the extra detail. I graded the rest of the papers and stacked them ready for Monday to hand out. I looked at my watch and headed back to my classroom to set up for the next class to arrive.
