It isn't just similar....
The stories about Osiris and Horus predate the Jews themselves by many years. If the Bible was supposedly written by holy men who got the words they wrote from God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit, their source was plagiarising big time, which means that they aren't from God. If the bible was written by God, shouldn't it be different, the Truth, as compared to the other myths,Lies?
The comparisons made are from Don c/o "Christ & Krishna: 10 Similarities"

Chapter 1
More then Similarities!
Jesus was the "the only begotten son" of the god Yahweh.
Horus was the "the only begotten son" of the god Osiris.
The mother of Jesus was Mary. Sometimes referred to as Maria (Gospel of Mark) or Miriam.
The mother of Horus was Meri.
The foster father of Jesus was Joseph
The foster father of Horus was Jo-Seph
The birth of Jesus was heralded by a star in the East (where the Sun rises in the morning)
The birth of Horus was heralded by the star Sirius (the morning star) [In the month of July, Sirius rises in the East as the Morning Star, unlike in the Nothern Hemisphere, where Venus is the Morning Star]
After the birth of Jesus, Herod tried to have him murdered
After the birth of Horus, Herut tried to have him murdered
Jesus was taken from the desert in Palestine up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-nemesis Satan.
Horus was taken from the desert of Amenta up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Set.
Jesus was known as the Christ (which means "anointed one")
Horus is known as KRST, the anointed one.
Jesus is identified with the Tau (cross)
Horus was identified with the Tau (cross)
In Egyptian mythology, the people await the return of Osiris, where He will rule over men again, in justice, raising the Good and True, and smiting the Wrong and Evil. Is this proof enough that the Bible isn't the inspired word of God? Is this proof enough that the men who supposedly wrote the books of the Bible weren't blessed with the Holy Spirit and wrote what God told them, but rather men who rewrote the tales from the Old Religion?
The Egyptian myths would have been prevalent in the surrounding areas, just as the Greek ones would have, and others from the area around the Meditteranean. The men who wrote the Bible, even without teaching, would have known of these myths. Are you trying to say (Christians) that the Real Truth would be of Ra, and His Children? That Egyptian mythology is really the Bible? Is really what is true and holy, actually from a Polytheistic religion around the Nile?
Tell me what you think. Please comment or message your thoughts, even if you disagree. I want to see what Christians think of this. The two are the same, Horus and Jesus. What do you say to all this?

Please comment also on Raindrops_of_Silver's (a.k.a. AndraAvenyn) Proof that the Bible isn't Infalliable and God-Inspired? because she would love some answers/comments too! She's the one that got this started, and we'll spread this around as much as we can!
Here's a link to her Story:

Please comment there as well! We'd love to hear from everyone who reads these!
: )
No matter how many times I read this, I still find it hard to believe that it's so obvious, yet not well known.
It is startling that these rather obvious connections aren't more often stumbled across in one's reading, or just life. But no, it takes scholars and mythology specialists to point out the obvious to us! At least they publish books and articles about it. That way, people like us who want to point these things out have a source, a proper published work to point to, instead of being unable to back it up!
horus and Jesus are NOT the same. horus is just some myth and the Eygptians are mixing christianty with their religion. Jesus is the true God. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one. Jesus is the true and living God. He listens to our prayers and cries. He moves us too. The bible is real and the bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
Oh btw I hate it when people try to compare some fake god tomy GOD.

I don't understand. This is what is pointed out in the Story itself. How do you point the finger and say that Horus and Osiris are phony, fake gods, etc., and say that Jesus isn't, that he's the right god, when they are identical?? Their myths are the same, they do much the same things, and there are many more similarites in further myths. What separates them, but a name?
The Bible does not actually stand for those words. Somebody came up with it. Unless I missed that verse....?
my parents are christian, but im athiest
Uh....that really has nothing to do with this. This is about disproving the bible as something infalliable or true. This is pointing out the fact that christians have a bible that seems to be nothing but Egyptian mythology rewritten by a bunch of men who thought themselves superior, and a group of people (a.k.a. Israelites), who thought themselves to be unique, special, that their god is better, stronger, more wonderful than anyone else's. You being an atheist has nothing to do with this.--AA
Exactly, Raindrops.
