Proof that the Bible isn't infallible and God-inspired?
If God inspired every word to be written through the use of the Holy Ghost, wouldn't this disprove it? The stories about Osiris and Horus predate the Jews themselves by many years. If the Bible was supposedly written by holy men who got the words they wrote from God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit, their source was plagiarising big time, which means that they aren't from God.

Chapter 1
Comparisons
Jesus was the "the only begotten son" of the god Yahweh.
Horus was the "the only begotten son" of the god Osiris.
The mother of Jesus was Mary. Sometimes referred to as Maria (Gospel of Mark) or Miriam.
The mother of Horus was Meri.
The foster father of Jesus was Joseph
The foster father of Horus was Jo-Seph
The birth of Jesus was heralded by a star in the East (where the Sun rises in the morning)
The birth of Horus was heralded by the star Sirius (the morning star) [In the month of July, Sirius rises in the East as the Morning Star, unlike in the Nothern Hemisphere, where Venus is the Morning Star]
After the birth of Jesus, Herod tried to have him murdered
After the birth of Horus, Herut tried to have him murdered
Jesus was taken from the desert in Palestine up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-nemesis Satan.
Horus was taken from the desert of Amenta up a high mountain to be tempted by his arch-rival Set.
Jesus was known as the Christ (which means "anointed one")
Horus is known as KRST, the anointed one.
Jesus is identified with the Tau (cross)
Horus was identified with the Tau (cross)
In Egyptian mythology, the people await the return of Osiris, where He will rule over men again, in justice, raising the Good and True, and smiting the Wrong and Evil. Is this proof enough that the Bible isn't the inspired word of God? Is this proof enough that the men who supposedly wrote the books of the Bible weren't blessed with the Holy Spirit and wrote what God told them, but rather men who rewrote the tales from the Old Religion?
The Egyptian myths would have been prevalent in the surrounding areas, just as the Greek ones would have, and others from the area around the Meditteranean. The men who wrote the Bible, even without teaching, would have known of these myths. Are you trying to say (Christians) that the Real Truth would be of Ra, and His Children? That Egyptian mythology is really the Bible? Is really what is true and holy, actually from a Polytheistic religion around the Nile?
Tell me what you think. Please comment or message your thoughts, even if you disagree. I want to see what Christians think of this. The two are the same, Horus and Jesus. What do you say to all this?

I have Raindrops_of_Silver (aka AndraAvenyn) to thank for this. She's the one that came up with it. Please comment on hers, too, because she'd love to hear from all of you!

Yay! Posted! Hopefully many people will read this, and see what's going on in the bible. And also, hopefully many will comment, too! It'd be great to see what people think!
Personally, I think this is about enough proof for me to completely disbelieve the christian bible.
Thanks for reposting this, PotionsMaster, though it seems that, once again, Gwiazdy will be a comment hog, and attract all the attention! XD Can't really compete with someone who's got many more friends to send the invite to, though. And thanks a million for the linkback. Hopefully we'll get some decent comments back!
Hopefully!
How did you actually come up with this? Of course the Bible's true. And the Book of Mormon. And the Doctrine and Covenants. And the Pearl of Great Price. If you don't believe me, just read the Book of Mormon. It's nearly impossible to disprove, along with Section 87 of the Doctrine and Covenants.
I didn't come up with this. These are actual comparisions that have been made by religious experts (that's in the introduction.) And I got it from a friend, who found the research and comparisions.
WOAH! Are you talking about the Book of Mormon, as in the book that was written by Joseph Smith that supposedly states that there were Jewish people once living in North America, and we just haven't found remains yet? Because if that's true, that that is what you are saying is impossible to disprove, I think you're crazy.
Yes, I read that. I don't happen to be blind, just dyslexic. Are you religious?
I am not Christian, if that's what you were asking. I'm a Hellenist.
All three of us are religious, Raindrops_of_Silver, PotionsMaster, and myself, Gwiazdy. We happen to have a separate religion than Christianity, and we have open eyes to the things that people post when they point out facts that disprove the bible's accuracy.
How do we know Egyptian came first? Huh?
Wow. A perfect example of what we were talking about. Look at the historical evidence behind the Bible... Jesus was born when? He was three years old in 0 AD. The ancient Egyptian myths date back thousands of years before then.
Well, I'm christian, I can believe this if I want, and I don't want to. If you want to, go ahead, but don't force me to. :)
I wasn't forcing anyone. I firmly believe that no one else's beliefs should be hoisted on other people. However, I posted this as a favor to a friend, who was trying to make an argument against some fanatics she'd come across.
