Chapter 1

Three Broomsticks

By some miracle the Potter's managed to get to the train station early. Lily and James were arguing as usual. Lily hated to admit, but she actually missed Aleksander. They were early, so they started talking with Hermione and Ron. Lily hung back thinking about her summer.

/Flashback
Lily was sitting on the roof of the house, attempting to read but the stars were too bright to concentrate. "Do you usually come out here?" she jumped and saw Aleksander leaning out the window.
"Yeah," she said turning to look at him. He got out and sat next to her. "Isn't the sky beautiful?" she asked. Then turned to him; he had a strange look on his face. "What?"
"Nothing, the entire time I've been here it's the first time..."
"What not arguing with James?" she snorted laying back.
"Your special, Lily Potter," she rolled her eyes at the cheesy lines. "I'm serious. I've never met a girl so stubborn as you," she sat up and looked into his dark eyes.
"I try," she said with a smile she usually reserved for Scorpius.
"Maybe why we're at school we could exchange letters,"
"I'd like that," she said looking at him./

"Lily, Lily!" she heard someone calling her name and saw Rose. "Hurry up or you'll miss it," Lily jumped on the train and headed to the compartment in the Slytherin section. She immediatly went to the one that her and her friends had occupied for the last couple of years. Inside were Ronnie and Hannah along with Scorpius and Loki. Hannah was the last of the girls in their year who shared the dorm. She was a quiet girl who kept to herself and hardly ever hung out with them or was in the dorm.

"Hey," Loki said. Lily walked over and sat down next to Scorpius.

"Hi," she said to everyone. Scorpius barely lifted his eyes from a book. Lily ignored him and started talking with everyone else.

"Oh, Lily can you help me find Celia? I want to ask her something," Ronnie asked. Lily furrowed her eyebrows.

"Try the compartment four down. The one in Gryffindor, I thought she started dating one of the fifth years," Ronnie rolled her eyes. Lily caught on. "Fine," she sighed and left. Her friend nearly pulled her out.

"Are you blind? Or stupid? Or just that stubborn?" Ronnie asked. Lily just looked at her like she was insane. "Scorpius! You and I both know that he likes you. I've had enough of you playing stupid. I know that the only reason you dated Flint last year was you were too stubborn to admit it. Why else would you kiss him?" Ronnie shuddered. You couldn't pull anything over Ronnie.

"It doesn't matter, but right now I don't want to date anyone right now. If I do," that's when Lily pulled a picture out of her pocket. It was one of her, James and Aleksander. "It's him," she said pointing to the tall boy who was a younger version of his father.

"Is this the one you told me about last year?" the red head nodded. "Fine, but mark my word your never going to be happy Lily. You can date every guy you want to at school and even at Durmstrang for that matter, but you and Scorpius; you can't make something like that up," Ronnie said. Lily glanced down at the picture. It was of her, Aleksander and James. Some reason they weren't fighting, which was rare.

Their fourth year was insanely busy and Lily was avoiding Scorpius; again. He tried not to let it bother him, but he couldn't keep on playing her games. One day she was hugging him and right by his side, the next she was making out with someone in the halls. "Hey, Score aren't you supposed to meet Lily in the library?" Loki asked.

"If she shows," he snorted, gathering his stuff up. He walked to the library and saw her sitting at the table. She was smiling, not at him but at a piece of parchment. "Hey," he said.

"Hi," she smiled. "You know, I finished my essay. I don't need any help, but I can go over your Charms one if you want," he shook his head.

"What's that?" he asked gesturing at the piece of parchement.

"Oh, just something from Aleksander. You know James friend that stayed at the house this summer. He goes to Durmstrang and has been owling me," she said. Scorpius rolled his eyes and got up. Lily put the paper back into her book and followed him. "Is something wrong?" she asked.

"Yeah, something is. I'm tired of it Lily,"

"Tired of what?"

"Tired of this. Your doing the same thing you did with Flint last year and I'm not going to deal with it. Your going to avoid me and everyone else because you know that their right, but your to stubborn to admit it," she just stood there. Scorpius looked at her; he could almost see the anger bubbling up. "Your my best friend Lily. You have a huge heart, but your just so stubborn," he said.

"Score," she started.

"Swallow your pride for once, let someone else be right. Until you do that," he shook his head "I don't know if I want to be your friend," with that he walked away.

It was the first Hogsmeade weekend and she hadn't talked much to Scorpius since they talked outside the library. "Tell me," Lily heard Imogene whine. Hannah walked in. Hannah was there introverted roommate. She was smart but hardly ever hung out with them.

"Will you just leave me alone?" she snapped.

"She's not going to leave you alone until you tell her," Ronnie said. Hannah rolled her eyes and then looked at Lily.

"Scorpius," she muttered. Ronnie and Imogene looked at each other. "Scorpius Malfoy, your going out with him?" she nodded before stomping out of the room. Imogene looked at Lily before leaving too.

"Lils, are you going to come?" Ronnie asked. She got up and the two went down to the courtyard where the third to seventh years were gathering. The teachers talked before they let the students walk down. "Are you mad at Hannah?"

"No, why would I be," she rolled her eyes and pointed ahead where Hannah and Scorpius were walking. Soon the girls caught up with Loki and Warren and headed to Honeydukes.

Lily was buying some fudge when Loki came up. "Lils, there's a guy outside lookng for you," she rolled her eyes.

"Loki I don't want to deal with this now," he put his hands in the surrender gesture and pointed to the window. The girls eyes lit up as she saw a large figure. She payed then rushed out the door. "Aleksander! What are you doing here?"

The large teen looked startled by the small girl. "I got a pass. They started doing it after the triwizard tournament, but they didn't let anyone come here until after the war." he said. "Let's find your family. James would never let me hear the end of it, it I didn't find him," Lily laughed. The guy must be brave if he was willing to hang with her family. Her crazy, delusional, dysfunctional, loving family.

"There probably in the Three Broomsticks," she said pointing ahead. Without thinking she grabbed his hand and rushed ahead. Inside it was warm and the atmosphere welcoming. It didn't take long to find her family. They had shoved several tables together and almost half of them had red hair and were laughing at some outrageous story Fred was telling.

They were greeted by several shouts and greetings. "So you managed to track her down," James said with a smile.

"Sit down, we'll order more butterbeers," Rose said already gesturing to a couple chairs. The bartender brought them some more of the butterbeers. "Your a brave guy if your willingly coming here," Rose told him. "Lil why don't you give the introductions," Lily smiled at her family that she hadn't seen for a while, but could still point out everyone.

"You know James. This is Rose and her brother Hugo is down there," she said pointing to the end. Then whispered. "You can let your guard down a little since he's not by James or Fred," she said. "That's Fred over there and his sister Roxie is," Lily scanned the room. She was away from the family at a small table with a guy. "Over there. That's Louis, Victoire and Dominque's younger brother. Both of his sisters are out of Hogwarts. I think that's all, Albus won't be at Hogwarts for another ten years and Teddy is the same age as Fleur and Lucy and Molly aren't old enough yet,"

Then they introduced the friends that had tagged alone. The few brave souls that could handle the Potter-Weasly clan. "Hey, Louis when's the wedding?" asked Fred, he turned to the confused Aleksander. "Victoire and Teddy are getting married."

"I don't know mum is freaking out. I think it'll be sometime this summer; mostly family," he answered which earned a groan from everyone. That's when the doors opened. In walked Scorpius and Hannah followed by Loki, Ronnie and Warren.

Scorpius was bored out of his mind. Hannah was nice enough but she was no Lily. She didn't say much and liked to hang out with the older kids. They headed into the Three Broomsticks after meeting up with Loki, Ronnie and Scorpius. Lily had gone somewhere else a while ago.

As soon as he walked in, he saw all of them. By all of them he meant the Potter/Weasly family sitting at several tables shoved together. They were hard to miss and Lily was sitting with them. She hardly ever hung out with them, then he saw who she was sitting by: Aleksander. He had met him briefly at her house. He must be brave if your meeting the all at once.

That's when he heard Lily laugh and lean on him. "Scorpius, are you okay?" It was Hannah. He nodded. "It was pretty cold outside, drink some butterbeer, it'll warm you right up," he took a drink, but no longer wanted to be in here.
